Dukes BBQ of Blackville — Restaurant in Blackville

Ok, so let me start by saying that I am a big fan of the Duke’s in Aiken (they get a 10)! But, man this place right in Blackville is DISGUSTING!!! Does not even come remotely close to Aiken’s location!! I don’t know if they use water or grease to water down the food but nothing has flavor AT ALL! YUCK!! Either the food is straight SALT or no flavor at all! I’m a country girl and I love supporting small businesses but something has to be done about this!! CORN NUGGETS - cold, hard, straight trash almost choked because they were so DRY!! Squash Casserole - NO FLAVOR AT ALL, tastes like wet mushy paper, broccoli casserole - straight salt and grease, Fried chicken is greasy, wet droopy skin, and just salt!! I mean how can this even be a BBQ place when the pulled pork has no smoke ring, no grill flavor, and the meat just tasted like bland meat!! YUCK! 🤮 I hate giving bad reviews but I hope the owner sees this because this place needs to do better, you can’t seriously charge for barely edible food! $42 down the drain!! You can tell their food is not fresh - everything tastes at least 2 days OLD!! I grew up in a town very close to Blackville. And we would go to Dukes barbecue in Blackville and I remember the food being tremendous. What has happened? I went there today and it was absolutely terrible. If I could rate it lower than a one I would. The place inside and out was filthy and the people working there look like they haven’t bathed in weeks. The food was cold and had no taste. And I should’ve known, not to eat there when I walked in on a Friday at 12:05 and there were no customers inside the building. Something needs to be done because the Dukes name has a very good reputation and it is getting ruined in the town of Blackville. I hope everyone sees this because I paid $15 for four or five bites of terrible food and through the plate and the food in the trash. And in my opinion, it all should be trashed. 1 clean table out of about 30 tables. Unclean and very dirty. Staff were not following food prep guidelines. Food area was unclean and food options limited. I don't see why anyone in the area would support this business. Business owner: Instead of responding with "you must be speaking of another business," Get the message that you need to provide an improved level of service to your customers and lets move on together knowing that your customers will be happier.
