I visited the establishment tonight around 8:20 PM with my girlfriends and encountered incredibly uncomfortable service from part-owner Kyle. This was our second visit, and we were looking forward to a relaxing evening, trying everything on the happy hour menu. The website clearly states they close at 10:00 PM on Sundays, with happy hour from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

However, we overheard staff discussing closing early. When we asked bartender Kyle if we could order last-minute drinks, he hesitated and seemed unwilling to serve us. The food was mediocre at best, adding to our disappointment.

Another waiter, confused by Kyle's behavior, took our order and mentioned they were closing early due to low business—something that was never communicated to us. It’s disheartening to see how a Black-owned business treated us. When we expressed our concerns, the waiter dismissively said, “Let them go; they don’t have to come back.” This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable.

To make matters worse, Kyle was aggressive in his demeanor, treating us as if we were a problem rather than valued customers supporting a Black-owned business. It’s incredibly frustrating to witness such a lack of empathy and basic customer service principles. While I understand that businesses can experience slow nights, there are respectful ways to handle the situation.

I doubt I will ever return to a place that operates this way, lacking moral integrity and basic principles of hospitality. I urge others to be cautious when considering support for a business that seems careless and insensitive. This place has a lot of potential and is probably a cool happy hour spot. We went just before happy hour started on a Friday and it was pretty empty. They had one of the sports networks playing and music playing as well. I think the music was a little too loud as the bartender had to ask me to repeat myself a few times but that wasn’t a major issue for me at all. The bartender was nice and knew the menu well. We were planning to order a commanders pizza and he informed me the description on the menu was incorrect and went down the actual ingredients on the pizza. We ordered a burger, jerk chicken quesadilla, and a bbq chicken pizza. My husband asked for the burger to be medium (as places tend to over cook beef ) the bartender assured him the burger would be cooked to temp since the chef was good at her job. Not to our surprise, the burger was over well done. The fries were good tho. The jerk chicken quesadilla was more like a bbq chicken quesadilla and it was okay. I wouldn’t order it again. The pizza took over an hour to come out. We were in a little bit of a time crunch and knowing the pizza took a while to prepare would’ve been helpful to know especially since my husband was finished his burger before my pizza even came out. We ended up taking the pizza to go once we got home we saw that it was piles and piles of cheese and chicken, which you would think would be good but it was overwhelming. There were no additional spices, onions, peppers, it was just ALOT of cheese and chicken. I also saw one of the kitchen staff eating chips while she prepared the food. We decided to get takeout from here, old bay wings & pizza. We ordered online at 8:26pm, said it would be ready between 8:58pm-9:06pm. We pull up around 9:25pm and before we could even park the car, a waitress (lighter skin, old Boho braids) comes out yelling at us saying we can’t park there. We calmly say we are just picking up an order.

I walk inside and give my name for my food and the staff looks confused. The rude waitress from before (I learned her name was Allison) says to me “it ain’t ready yet.” I ask what happened & she says “oh the kitchen is backed up. you may as well leave and come back in 20 minutes.” … No “sorry about the wait” or anything.

Ok. I go back to the car and park close by. I noticed a pickup truck with tree branches and other debris parks in the space where the original waitress yelled at us about. She did not yell at the driver of the pick up truck.

Went back in at 9:46pm, my food was STILL not done. I asked for a refund and they only gave me a PARTIAL refund in cash.

P.S… their old bay wings? Just fried chicken with a little sprinkle of Old Bay seasoning on top…disappointing at every turn. Man, I wouldn’t recommend this place to my...
