We visited Rio Blanco Cafe & Restaurant today and had a generally pleasant experience, though a few things held it back from being exceptional.

The food was good, fresh and flavorful but nothing that stood out as over the top. The atmosphere was interesting, with Latin-style music setting a lively tone, though it was a bit too loud for the space and made conversation difficult at times.

One issue we noticed was with food delivery. Although the tables are numbered, the kitchen staff didn’t seem to know where the orders were going, which caused some unnecessary delays and confusion. All food and coffee orders must be placed at the bar, which, while efficient for quick service, wasn’t very conducive to ordering additional items mid-meal. It made it feel more like a walk-up café than a full-service restaurant.

On a positive note, the place was clean, and the staff was very prompt about clearing and wiping down tables after guests left, definitely a plus.

The biggest drawback of our visit was the loud, non-work-related conversation coming from the woman at the RV park desk. It was distracting and took away from the overall dining experience.

There’s potential here, and with a few adjustments; like refining the ordering process and keeping personal conversations private it could be a much stronger dining...

We stop here for breakfast fairly frequently as we drive around the hill country daily for our business. Poncho and Luis run this little food spot which is inside Tillman Resort, an RV park in Blanco, TX. You might not notice from the road that a cafe is in there and that is open to the public, but if you ever find yourself driving through Blanco, you should definitely stop here! Not sure about lunch here, but the breakfast tacos are magical! We always get the Rio Blanco taco and it's perfect. During our most recent visit, we decided to try their newly added to the menu biscuit and gravy...excellent addition to the menu! The biscuit was perfectly crispy and soft at the same time while the sausage gravy had a delicious hint of spice to it! We also tried the blueberry scone which was the best I've ever had... and I'm not much of a scone fan. I highly recommend visiting Pancho and Luis at their Cafe in Blanco! Delicious breakfast and they are both a delight to have a...

I saw the 4.8 stars on the river, and had to try it. We should have gone somewhere else. We were there on a Sunday morning and it was busy but no one waiting. I had the migas (daily special) and my wife had 2 breakfast tacos. All the food was room temperature and had little flavor. The pinto beans looked fancy, half mashed with some cream based sauce and spices. They tasted like they were right out of the can. The potatoes were a little under cooked but at least had proper amount of salt, pepper and oil. Service was not personal. Had to go to a counter to order, even though we were seated and they had enough waiters for the size of the establishment. All employees seemed rushed. No, "can I get you anything?" or "how was your food?" Also, it didn't look like anyone ran the place, no one in charge. Beautiful place to be, but the food and service need a...

Off the beaten path in Blanco Texas, a few miles away from the downtown square you will find Rio Blanco Cafe. It’s situated on the Tillman’s RV Park property along the Blanco River. The cafe was recommended by family friends that live in Blanco, so l stopped in for coffee and breakfast. I was greeted by business partners, Luis & Poncho. They were super hospitable and very friendly, not only to me but to everyone that walks into the cafe. Poncho is the chef at the cafe, food ingredient's are all fresh and locally sourced. Luis wears several hats at the cafe and is on point with his hospitality… he always has a smile. I had to make one more visit for breakfast before l journeyed back to Iowa. Twice l had the Chorizo with egg tacos, made with the blue corn tortillas. I would recommend this breakfast plate, and highly recommend stopping at Rio Blanco Cafe!
