Parks Pastries — Restaurant in Bloom Township

I found this place on community Facebook page. I missed their soft opening in I think May or June but definitely patronized and so happy I did when they officially opened! Very reasonable prices! I saw they had GF options. They were still freshly opening so tv screens of things and back counters were still off/ bare but the selection of treats were oh so tempting! I brought my husband and little one in there and we were pleasantly surprised by what was available! I purchased 3 cupcakes, 2 cookies, and a scone and won’t be quiet about it! I spent ~$26, very reasonable prices! The icing on the cupcakes were so rich and tasty! The scone was so soft and delicious! I plan to come back for more treats! I’m hoping you might have a regular selection of Macarons at some point that’s really what I came for but walked out with so much more. Very friendly staff and everyone had masks and gloves in the back. I unfortunately didn’t take pictures of our cookies but here’s some of the other treats I captured. That turtle cupcake is every chocolate lovers dream come true! The strawberry lemon and blueberry lemon were fantastic! My next purchase plans to be one of their personable pies, a zucchini loaf, and the blueberry lemon scone and the mixed berry scones and more cupcakes oh and those thick chocolate chip...

Today we bought an apple crisp & chef's special pie with an oreo cupcake. All were sooooooooo tasty. HOWEVER, no matter how great your products are. All will be overshadowed by poor customer service. I came by on a surprise celebration for having a great day at work and came to share some sweet treats with my family. When walked in, no one was behind the counter. There was a young woman or teenager that got up from sitting down in the main dining area and walked behind the counter. Made NO EFFORT whatsoever to speak, smile, or give eye contact. I was so embarrassed in front of my family. I tried to kill the negative vibe with kindness. I said hello, asked about the different pastries which led to a super dry and "bothered" response. Almost like you should KNOW the answers to the questions you are asking. We would have gotten more treats, but the lady was sighing and making nonverbals so hard to ignore we were in there a total of 10 mins. We talked about our horrible experience the whole right home. If we try them again it will have to be via Uber/Door Dash. If you don't like interacting with people then contribute to your company's growth by doing marketing and branding only. I am a truck driver and not home to bake as much I’d like to so I was happy to see that Homewood was getting a bakery. I stopped by 4/2 and picked 4 pies (apple crisp, key lime, peach, and pineapple coconut) and have been very happy with the pies my husband and I have tried. Apple crisp has nice firm apples, lots of spices and a buttery crust. The key lime was refreshing and tart, the cookie crust was a little buttery but this didn’t affect the quality of the pie (butter was of good quality to boot!!).

I’ve not sampled the remaining two pies but if they are of the taste and quality of the two I’ve tried, I will be very happy. These are excellent pies.

Now just need to sample some of the other items in the shop.
