Lickity Split — Restaurant in Bloomingdale Township

I stopped by there because I was craving chocolate. I didn't want to ruin my appetite for dinner so I got a medium vanilla soft served cone dipped in chocolate. However the person who last filled the machine that the ice cream came from! I was handed my cone that was melting badly and the girl smiled and said she had a hard time dipping it but she managed!! Before I got to the door to take it outside it was dripping badly in my hand and falling on the floor and ground as I walked out!! I knew I couldn't drive, unless I wanted to wear it, I walked to the picnic area where it proceeded the chocolate fell off before I could sit down!! Two of the employees from within came out for a smoke and saw what was happening but never said a word. I managed to catch 1/3 of the chocolate because my ice cream turned to soup that quickly! I ended up with a little ice cream and 1/3 of the chocolate and near completely melted ice cream! My hands were so covered I went in to get some water to rinse my hands! The owner I found out I was speaking to and she asked if I was happy! She had recently, I don't know when, and said she would make me a new cone. I declined because I had ice cream on my shirt and the leg of my pants! The name of the place had changed which I didn't realize at the time that I arrived! I told her I blogged and won't be coming back!

Aren't her employees supposed to tell you when they see that the ice cream is too soft to make...

SO VERY UNHAPPY cannot express enough. Never will we be back. Last year we said we would not be back after my hubby got a vanilla shake that was actually just cold milk. They used so little ice cream and added so much milk it was simply milk and there was NO FLAVOR.

Well we didn't listen to ourselves and tried again this year. Our purchase was $24 for 2 large shakes and a large flurry. * A little pricey ok ----- but after tasting we both became furious, felt ripped off!?!!

I bought 2 large vanilla shakes ....no scratch that I think they thought I said 2 - 32oz milks! And a large flurry with banana, nuts, coconut and fudge. Nope it was just a 20 oz white milk with a couple of bites of banana, maybe a Tablespoon of nuts and coconut but I could not see nor taste any form of fudge or chocolate.

So I poured the milk in a big gallon ice cream bowl and it is in the freezer. I will mess with it in the morning and add sugar, cream and vanilla and refreeze in my ice cream maker. They should be ashamed there is obviously no management at this ice cream shop. Used to love to get hamburgers, homemade fries and ice cream here. Now we have to go to Allegan...

Normally pretty great.. more of a comment then a review I guess but I can’t post on the page. I came here today with my daughter as a speacial reward for meeting her reading goal. She looked forward to it all week. When we got here @ 11:40 nobody was here and it was not open even though the hrs for today says it opens at 11:30. Pretty disappointing. Sadly, we will be going elsewhere for lunch.

Update: worker showed up at 11:47 driving like a bat out of hell and told me if I waited about 10-15 minutes she could get things fired up and start making food. After cook time that’d be another 25 mins!!! So we got lunch and came back for dessert and same lady was on her phone about something she personally ordered and don’t get off when we came in, just put it on speaker phone. She talked on the phone the whole time she was taking Our order and serving us. Not super happy with the service at all!!! If there was another place in town to get ice cream cones, we’d be...
