It's an odd place to eat. I'm guessing the manager was busing tables, waiting tables and cooking all together. I was there with 2 others. One of them ordered a beef tamale, and after a considerable amount of time, the guy came out to tell her they didn't have what she wanted. She settled for a chicken one. I ordered a Mexican hotdog I Never had one, and it sounded interesting. After another amount of time, the same guy comes out and tells me they're out of hotdogs. I substituted a taco in its place. When I ordered the 🌠I had also ordered a burrito with lettuce and sour cream. When all our orders came out, the others in my party got their meals, and I got a plate with lettuce and sour cream. I pushed it aside, thinking my burrito is still coming out. The others had already finished their meals when my taco finally appeared. I asked about the burrito, and he said it was already delivered to the table. I asked where it was. He pointed to the plate of lettuce. I said no, there is no burrito, only lettuce. He insisted I check it. I did, only to find the smallest burrito in the world buried beneath a mountain of lettuce. So, in all fairness, the taste of the food was very good. The portion size of the hidden mini burrito did not match the price I paid for it. Now, the taco is another story. It has to be the biggest ground beef, soft shell, taco with lettuce and cheese, that of course has been americanized, was delicious. If I were to return there, I would only get the tacos. Now for the sauce bar. They have a hot sauce bar that when we got there, we were scraping the bottom of the pans. The guy never bothered to refill them. So, in a nut shell, the food was tasty, they seem to be out of a lot of menu items, and the place over all just seems to be a bit sketchy. Again, if I ever went back, it would only be...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I were headed to eat at our favorite local Mexican restaurant, however, it was Sunday around 1:00 (right after church) and there was a wait to get in. With the help from Google, we decided to search for other Mexican restaurants in our area. Authentic California Mexican Grill was a place we’ve never visited and had good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. This place did not disappoint! The owner was very friendly and cheerful. The food was outstanding. I ordered shrimp tacos with cilantro and onions on corn tortillas and they were the best corn tortillas in this area. They offer you complimentary bean dip and also have a salsa bar. The house salsa was delicious with a hint of black pepper and cilantro-which I love! I definitely want to try the guacamole when we go back. This actually might be our new favorite...
Read moreCame in and was greeted. We were given menu’s and he came back a couple minutes later with chips that were very burnt and our drinks and his “airpod” fell out and almost landed in one of the drinks. We needed an extra couple minutes to order and over 25 minutes later our order was taken. The worker or owner was talking on his phone during this time and he only came back to take our order after another customer approached him and asked a question. When we finally got our food it was very underwhelming and not very good. The food was cold. My boyfriend says: “As someone from California with true authentic Mexican food, this is a disgrace to my kind.” Then when we went to pay he took a couple dollars off our bill and then shook our hands and told us to come back. We will never...
