Western Tap – Bloomington, IL 1 Star – Unsafe, dismissive, and not worth the headache (literally).

Went here with friends expecting a fun night. Instead, I got hit in the face by a broken toilet paper dispenser while using the restroom during a power outage—and was blamed for it by staff.

While we were there, a man named Woodsy, who runs the kitchen, kept hovering around our table. His flirting and interruptions went from awkward to intrusive fast. We eventually had to ask him to please leave us alone so we could enjoy our meal.

Then the power went out—no backup lighting, no warning. I went to use the bathroom in total darkness. While in the handicap stall, I leaned over for toilet paper, and the dispenser fell and hit me in the nose.

When I told Woodsy, he admitted it was already broken—but blamed me for not using a flashlight. Instead of offering help, concern, or taking any responsibility, he kept bothering us until we told him directly to stop.

The bartender expressed sympathy, but that was it. No offer to document the injury, no compensation, not even a basic safety check.

The owner was present and knew about the power outage, yet no steps were taken to make the building safe or check on customers after the incident.

Came here for a quick bite while we were in the area the only issue what so ever was the parking. If it was packed it would be hard to find parking but other than that it was an amazing experience. Theres an inside and an outside. The inside is a nice bar and outside there is two patios one with high tables and the other had short picnic tables with two tvs. They even had a corn hole set up. There was also a fan outside which I thought was a nice touch. The outside looks like a cool old tavern. The food was good priced best eleven dollars I've ever spent on a burger meal. Best burger I've had in a long time. It was fresh juicy and absolutely delicious I got the double cheeseburger and fries the fries are amazing. They were really crunchy but not hard a perfect in-between.I swear this was one of if not the best bar and grill restaurants I've ever been too. The atmosphere is extremely welcoming and inviting. Everyone was super friendly the service was perfect we had three burgers and got it in ten to fifteen minutes. I felt like I was at home with friends. It was okay. The staff was very friendly. Everyone enjoyed the food, someone said the ribeye sandwich was fantastic. It was busy especially because it was Friday night but had to ask for menus multiple times until someone from our table just got up and got them ourselves, same with the drinks. Someone from my party played a song on the "jukebox" and when it came on they said one of the staff members "couldn't handle it emotionally" so they manually skipped over it. It cost extra to jump the que and my friend paid the extra to jump to 8th in line. They refunded half his money for the song choice but IMO should've been refunded all of it because they literally manually changed it after 30 seconds. It wasn't an explicit song in anyway.
