We stopped at Blue Springs and wanted to get something to eat. We asked the lady at the gate if the BBQ place across the street was good. She said, well yes, it is. I have to say that because it belongs to my family. We were happy to hear it was good and went right over. The parking lot was red clay and grass. We went in and went to the counter. The restaurant smelled of BBQ wood smoke. We asked if they had beef ribs and were told only pork. We asked if they had barbecue chicken and were told they only had pork. We asked if they had a house salad and the lady looked at us like we were stupid. We told her we do not eat pork and she said we only have pork. I had not met a rude person in Alabama until today. We left and tracked all that red clay and grass back into our car. We drove to Dothan to a car wash and Cracker Barrel. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who does not eat pork or does not want to have to clean your shoes and floor mats.

They were busy but it was worth the tiny wait. They were all hustling to try to keep up. We had the Baked chicken and BBQ sandwich with green beans, mac n cheese, and mashed potatoes/gravy. šŸ˜‹šŸ‘ŒPortions were great, priced more than fair for the amazing food. So many smiles and kindness. I am already looking forward to our leftovers. 🄰

Very, very good food! We came right before visiting Blue Springs Park to eat lunch. Kids loved their double bacon cheeseburgers, our fish sandwiches were also very tasty. One thing than bothered me is that the cook never changed her gloves, she cooked, prepared, grabbed to go boxes/knives even our fries with the same glove.

I’ve been going to Hagler’s to eat for 20+ years and never had an experience like I did tonight. I asked if they still had the beef tips special and they did so that’s what I got. When I asked if there were onions and peppers in the gravy, she said yes so I said I’ll just pick them out. When I get my food, there’s more than just onions and peppers. There’s also carrots and celery. Pretty much beef stew. I ended up not eating it and took my plate to the counter and said yeah I can’t eat this. She then gets smart with me and said I tried to tell you. She did in fact tell me that there were onions and peppers but didn’t think it was a good idea to mention the other stuff? I was about to order another plate to take home because my husband was done with his food but she got a smart attitude so I just paid for our food and left. We rarely eat out as it is and then this happens. Hate to say that it’ll be our last trip...

It saddens me to give 1 star. I have never had any issues ever until today. Upon entering the restaurant the cashier/order taker was giving weird looks. She was very rude and I don’t know maybe she was having a bad day who knows. All I know is to have my debit card thrown at me and to say that I didn’t need to sign the receipt made me feel as though she wanted us to hurry up and leave and just didn’t care to have to serve people of my kind. I bragged on this restaurant to my husband because he always would ask about the restaurant when he comes through on his truck and to get treated like this on his very first visit was quite embarrassing. I certainly wish I could have talked to who ever was in charge because employees like the person we had to deal with will cause people to not want to come to this place. Shame on the lady who was having a bad day and just didn’t want to deal with my...
