DONT COME IF ARE BLACK OR AFRO LATINA I had a very unpleasant experience! When we arrived we were greeted with a very unpleasant “how many” They proceeded to sit me and my family in the back of the restaurant, nobody checked on our table for at least 25 minutes, then a lady walked up to the table and didn’t speak. She threw our chips down and walked away. When we ordered the waiter was very rude and I asked to add shrimp to my chimichanga and he expected me to know the menu… we sat for a hour waiting for our food and watched 5 different white parties walk in and were seated in the lighted area of the restaurant and the front of the restaurant. Me and my party noticed the racism we kindly got up and went to pay for our drinks. We stood there as all the workers just stared at us from a distance for 20 minutes, when I finally walked to the back of the restaurant to ask for someone to check us out the manager was very angry and mad check out even worse. I am a Dominican women and I am so disappointed how my fellow Latin Americans would treat me just because of the...
Read moreThe salsa was decent, the chips to scoop it with were stale. We got our drinks after 10 minutes, and ordered after a 25 minute wait. Half of our food came 45 minutes after ordering, and it was cold. The chicken was decent, the steak was dried, chewy, and taste less.
Ten more minutes and asking three times rewarded us with the rest of our order, but that didn't include the third persons fried ice cream that took over an hour to get (their only item ordered).
Capped off this experience with waiting five minutes to pay, which I shouldn't have done.
Edit: The above experience was during the first week of opening. After swearing I wouldn't go back, I decided to give them another shot. The food was OK, but nothing to brag about. The salsa was highly processed, but tasted decent. There is room for...
Read moreWe were treated very kindly. The service was wonderful and fast. Pricing was about average. The salsa was just spicy enough to give that tingle on your tongue. The corn chips could've been fried a little longer in my opinion, but my family didn't seem to mind them. I ordered the 61 Yolanda, and my goodness, it was amazing. The rice was spot on delicious. The beans were a little chunky/thick for me, but I also like mine really smooth. Now, the chicken was tender and seasoned wonderfully. I had no trouble cutting through it at all. The onions and cheese sauce on top were HEAVEN. Whoever sauteed those onions did them absolutely perfectly, and the cheese mixed with the spices and onions was positively transcendent. 10/10 I'm going there again for my birthday and any other excuse I can make...
