Food is good when you get it, but service is terrible. I called ahead to place an order, thank God I did, because it was 20 minutes after I walked in before anyone acknowledged me... and it was a guy who had been sitting at the counter since before I walked in. When I finally got an employee, they asked if I was a to-go order, to which I told them I was actually planning to eat in but called ahead. I then told them I think the order on the counter in a to-go carton was for me, as it had my name on it. They told me to go ahead and take a seat, which I did. 8 minutes later, a different waitress asked me for my order and I repeated that I think my food was already done and in the carton but I was planning to eat there at the table. Another 8 minutes later the first waitress brought the carton over in plastic to-go bag, along with my soda still in the bottle rather than a cup. I decided to go ahead and leave, as they clearly didn't think I should be eating in there. On my way out I wanted to let the 2nd waitress know my service was bad, to which the first waitress who over heard me explain all of this just simply replied "OK, goodbye". Naturally, my food is cold, despite me asking if it was even still warm and if it could be reheated as I was told it was still warm. Luckily, despite being cold and the not-cute kind of bad attitude, the chicken tenders were still great. The burger defenitely suffered from being cold, as did the fries. This just in: I was also overcharged. Not by much, but I was (a dollar and 8 cents) and after the bad in house service I feel like this just made it worth being upset about as well. I ordered a burger, a chicken tender basket and a diet pepsi, which adds up to $28.77 based on their online menu, or $30.92 after Florida's standard 7.5% tax. So you can't even trust their online menu to be customer friendly. Made me drop from 2 stars to 1 star when I noticed. I'll remove this part if someone contacts me to let me know they at least fixed the online menu's prices to make sure they are accurate to what people...
Read moreTrying to find a pet friendly restaurant for dinner in key west that isn’t over priced. Not looking for Prime Rib and Lobster, just some normal American standard food. We finally gave up and headed out to the other Islands, had seen many on the road in, took our chances. Well, just down the road East of NAS Boca Chica gate is a great local place! Sign outside says Home-cooking! We pulled in . No problem with parking, not real busy. Quaint inside with a dozen tables. Also patio outback with bar and another half dozen tables. The patio is pet friendly and in fact another dog was already there. The staff is exceptional! Very friendly . Prices are great! Most under $20 but the portions are large. First ordered stuffed mushrooms with fresh local crab meat! What a difference fresh makes! Great flavor. Ordered kw shrimp broiled, with squash for side and fries- 12 shrimp perfectly cooked still juicy. Seafood sauce is fresh- horse still kicking in the horseradish sauce! Squash not over grilled! Fries great. Husband had Grouper sandwich- awesome too. Had a local singer for entertainment That was great too! For those here fishing, they will cook your catch for...
