I've seen this place many times but finally decided to give it a try as I needed to grab a quick lunch. The name has always made me associate it with a well known mid-western chain that I'm not that fond of, so had kind of avoided it up till this point. Note that for some reason Google Maps is pinning the restaurant on the opposite end of the shopping complex it is located - it's on the far eastern side.
This is a fast casual restaurant without a drive-through, but plenty of parking around it. It's located across from FAU and in a busy shopping complex. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and the menu is available online and on the wall outside the building but you'll need to use a QR code on your smartphone inside for some reason.
Given this was my first visit I spent a few minutes looking over the menu - which consists of a lot of burgers, hotdogs, shakes, drinks, fries, and a few other items. They have a lot of specialty burgers and different types of fries (parmesean/garlic, etc.) and their SmokeShack burger caught my eye. The online photos make the burgers look huge and unwieldy, but they are very manageable in size and reasonably priced (about $8 for the one I ordered). I went for the regular crinkle cut fries and a coke to round out my meal.
The burger was fantastic, very flavorful and hot off the grill and garnished with some tasty bacon and some type of chopped pepper that had a mild heat and slight tartness (kind of like a pickle but not quite). You have to appreciate a properly fatty and seasoned burger though - if you prefer super-lean beef with no salt - just go away.
The fries were perfect. Served hot, slightly salty, a bit crispy on the outside and moist and tender inside. A single order isn't too much and may be worth a trip by themselves. The coke was a coke.
This place looks like it can get busy so I'd recommend ordering ahead if you're short on time. But on a fairly busy Friday lunch stop it probably only took about 10 minutes between the line, ordering, and getting my food. There were quite a few people working the counter and kitchen and it seems like a well run and clean place.
Overall I'm very happy I found this place and looking forward to stopping by on future trips. It may be awhile before I try something besides that Smokeshack burger though because I...
Read moreThis place received a lot of hype, and while I do not live close to here, I do fancy a good burger with fries. It seems that this place is known for being compared to places like In and Out Burger, Burger Fi, and similar joints. Pending on who you ask, they always rate one or the other head and heels over the other. I had a different perspective.
The menu is quite interesting with great flavors and toppings for their burgers and fries. You can also add a shake to your meal in a wide variety of seasonal and staple flavors. I ordered the cheese and bacon fries with the SmokeShack single cheeseburger topped with all-natural applewood smoked bacon ( I got extra!), chopped cherry pepper, and ShackSauce and topped the meal off with a Pumpkin Pie Shake. It took about 10 minutes to make and get out to us and cost more than I would have normally paid for a burger and fries of this size. The fries remind me of the crinkle fries you buy by the bag at the grocery store and the special white cheddar was nothing to write home about. Just a generic cheese sauce with chopped bacon. Not even enough to get a little on all the fries, just the top ones.
The Burger was where it stepped up. It was small (think McDonalds hamburger but tastier and taller) and made on a potato bun which was great. The addition of the cherry peppers was excellent! The tang and pop of that flavor really brought out the taste of the bacon. I couldn't taste the shakesauce so no comment on that. Next time, I'll get it on the side.
The shake was AMAZING! It tasted like I was drinking an actual pie. It was thick and satisfying without a artificial taste to it.
Overall, Shake Shack has some pros (shroom burger, shakes, cherry peppers!) and come cons (price, fries, sizes). But overall a decent place to grab something different if you are...

From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere, with friendly staff eager to help you choose from their mouth-watering selection.
One of the standout features of Shake Shack is the quality of their ingredients. Their burgers are made with 100% all-natural Angus beef, which is antibiotic and hormone-free. The buns are toasted to perfection, and the toppings are fresh and flavorful, with options to suit all tastes. Their crinkle-cut fries are also a customer favorite, with the perfect balance of crispy outside and fluffy inside.
But perhaps the biggest draw of Shake Shack is their milkshakes. These thick and creamy delights are made from real milk and ice cream, and come in a variety of flavors such as chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. They even have seasonal flavors, like pumpkin pie in the fall.
In addition to the food, Shake Shack also boasts a great ambiance with its modern and upbeat decor. The music is always on point and the staff are welcoming and attentive. The restaurant is also very clean and well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience.
