I’m writing this review not out of spite, but out of principle. I’ve had a deeply disappointing experience with Boise Fry Company that has revealed not just a lack of professionalism, but a disturbing disregard for customer concerns and basic respect. I feel compelled to share what happened so that others are aware of how this business chooses to operate, particularly when it comes to accountability and customer service.
Recently, I attempted to reach out to Boise Fry Company on two separate occasions. I called specifically to speak with upper management, hoping to resolve an issue and have a conversation with someone who had the authority to listen, understand, and take action if necessary. Unfortunately, what I encountered was not just a lack of assistance — it was outright rudeness and avoidance.
Both times I called, I was hung up on immediately. No explanation, no redirect, no effort to even ask what the nature of the call was. Just a click and a dial tone. This wasn’t a mistake or a dropped call. This was intentional — and it was loud and clear: “We don’t care.”
Let me be absolutely clear — asking to speak to management is a completely reasonable request, especially if a customer has concerns or feedback that frontline staff may not be able to address. The fact that the Boise Fry Company staff thought it was acceptable to simply hang up rather than engage in a civil conversation shows a complete lack of professionalism and integrity.
We live in a time where businesses say they value transparency, accountability, and customer input — but clearly, Boise Fry Company is only interested in those things when it’s convenient for them. The moment a customer raises a concern or dares to ask for leadership, they’re shut down — literally.
Let’s also talk about the larger issue here: if a business is this unwilling to let its customers speak to someone in charge, what else are they trying to avoid? Are they treating their employees fairly? Are other complaints being brushed under the rug? How does management respond to more serious issues if this is how they handle a simple phone call?
Customer service is about more than just smiling when someone walks in — it’s about how a business responds when things go wrong. That’s the true test of integrity. And Boise Fry Company failed that test miserably.
So no, I won’t be supporting them ever again. Not with my money, my time, or my energy. And I strongly encourage others to think twice before giving their business to a company that clearly doesn’t value or respect the people who keep them afloat — their customers.
There are plenty of restaurants out there that serve great food and treat people with basic human decency. Support those places. Boise Fry Company doesn’t deserve...
Read moreYes! Yes! YES! I love this place! I even tried to be “in a relationship” with Boise Fry, but fb wouldn’t let me. My niece said if she lived as close to Boise Fry as I do, she’d eat it every day, lol. I love the buns, I love the burgers and I love the fries! I love the sauces and salts and that they have malt vinegar available. They used to have home made root beer that was amazing, but I don’t know if they do that any more. They have bison burgers beef burgers, and veggie burgers and a couple non-burgers options. They keep things simple. I like the classic burger. They’re pickles are yummy. They also do a really delicious non-bun burger salad thing. So I’ve heard complaints about people having tiny bits of Fry pieces in their fries... I’d recommend getting the bigger sized cuts like the home style fries. Also the Fry sauce isn’t like regular Fry sauce. I don’t think there’s mayonnaise in it, maybe they should rename it. It’s good, but maybe not what you’d expect. My husband has a vendetta though, because once we went there during a BSU game and they had the TV on an Ohio game... ugh, cmon people we’re in Boise and Boise is in your name! He asked them to switch it to the bsu game and the hipster worker told him the game was over, it wasn’t, he didn’t even try, the game was on a major network, and should’ve been easy to find so we were stuck there waiting for our food not watching the game. I can forgive them for that one instance though. Usually the staff is top notch! Next time I run a race when this pandemic is over I want a shirt that says “fueled by fries.” Also, my child should have an outfit that says “created from fries” because when you’re pregnant meat is gross, but fries? Yes please! Maybe that’s why I gained 50 lbs, nah, it was water weight. Oh and one time I tried their fancy bourgeois fries. They were good. So yea, 5...
Read moreReally hoped to give 5 stars. Such a good idea having lots of yummy fry options and burger choices. Problem is they didn't really come through for me. I understand lots of folks love this model but the quirkiness went a bit too far resulting in a less than successful product. I found the burger bland except for the ginger/cinnamon (no dill) pickles. Yep you heard that right ginger & cinnamon. These pickles are house-made and just come off as weirdly sweet and awkwardly placed dominating the already tasteless burger. For me definitely didn't have a place on the sandwich. Just give me dill pickles and move on. Then came the fries. Looked fantastic. Cooked perfectly. The problem is they purposely don't salt them which makes them super dull. They offer you 15 different salt option flavors in individual shakers and 12 different ketchup flavors such as: blueberry, garlic aioli and ketchup/mustard that you have apply yourself. Not a bad salt idea but the execution is clunky because you either have to "salt" the entire bowl of fries at once unevenly or each individual fry with too much salt. I understand most reviewers find this process of eating chic or hip but I found it troublesome. I think their product overall would've been more successful if they'd salt the fries evenly themselves (with whatever flavor the customer chooses) and think a little more about completing the flavor of their burgers. All of this review aside the Boise brewing company "Boise light" beer was a perfect compliment to burgers and fries. A delightfully flavored American lager with no aftertaste. It was by far...
