I'm actually very surprised that this place got a lower rating, than I expected. Around lunch time and dinner time, this place is usually packed with people. When I used to live in Romeoville, about 2 years ago, this place was always my go-to pizza place. What they do is cut a fourth of the large pizza pie and give you two slices that way. I still go there, from time to time, when I'm in the area. Now the combo is just a tiny bit more in price, which is the only reason I dropped my score down to 4 stars. I really don't mind paying the extra change, that's not a big deal at all. However, prices jumped without getting back a little more in return. Not even a little candy treat.
Anyway, I'd still support this place. I love local shops where you can get a decent slice. And this place itself is just a small little shop, with quite a few tables in there and a basic television where you can just kick it and take a break. The place definitely has character. Of course, the pizza itself is great. That's my opinion anyway. I usually stick to the standard plain cheese or pepperoni. It's definitely on the heavier side, with a thicker dough/crust base. And with that said, I still think it's worth the cash....
Read moreAfter driving by Salerno' Bolingbrook location for year's we decided it was time to give it a try. The staff was very nice and we placed our order for dine in. We had ordered a large pepperoni pizza and zucchini, the counter call out for pick up of the zucchini and it was delicious. A little while later a call out for our pizza, disappointed does not cover it. The buy by the piece pizza in the case is beautiful, covered in pepperoni, our pizza you can't even see pepperoni, or the same amount under the cheese, you try to separate the pieces and the next pieces topping slide off so now you have dough and sauce. We are not high maintenance, but in a dine in restaurant we had to asked for plates to put our food on and were offered small aluminum pizza pans that was a real experience with the table size. We paid $36.22 for this very disappointing experience. I would strongly suggest Fat Ricks, Vita Bella, Papa's Pizza Place, Al's Pizza or any other place that has the courtesy to supply a plate to eat on. Produce a quality product the meets the standards of what is displayed when dining at...
Read moreI am half Sicilian so a lot of the foods in this establishment are found in my house especially the pizza. I am not picky at all when It comes to my pizza but the pizza that was served to me here was the worst pizza no the worst food I have ever eaten. First thing I noticed was that the pizza visually looked good so at least they did a good job with presentation so I was pretty excited to try it. Upon biting into it my teeth sunk into the pizza because the dough was undercooked and raw in some parts and very clumpy. Then the cheese tasted and felt like rubber. Then the worst part the sauce. This wasn't even a sauce it was more like a drink I was red water kind of like watered down koolaid only with a couple tomatoe chunks here and there. Now of coarse the worst part was later that night when I had the worst case of stomach pains that didn't fully go away till the following week. If you are a true pizza lover...
