This is definitely my new favorite bakery! My experience exceeded my expectations.

I’ve always had a refined taste for baked goods, and becoming gluten-free only enhanced that. As opposed to the many gluten-free items that struggle to find balance within texture, moisture, density, sweetness, flavor, diversity, and creativity, this bakery achieves all of it! It was truly amazing.

Charhause is tucked into a corner on the edge of Bolton and Manchester. It offers you a cozy, uplifting lounge area to enjoy your food and drinks in. I especially loved the dreamy suncatchers in the windows capturing some light, and the fun wall/furniture art. Even the bathroom was cute!

For my first visit I got a cinnamon bun, two cupcakes, and a blueberry shortbread pastry, paired with their specialty coffee of the day. All of the above were exceedingly delicious. The bun was served warm in-house, and was honestly the best I’ve ever had. I finished the rest at home pretty quickly, because I just couldn’t resist!! They were perfectly balanced with some salty elements (which is my favorite,) and ideal amounts of moisture, creaminess, chewiness, fluffiness, and crunch. I was so surprised that all the different types of pastries were equally impressive. They have some really talented pastry gurus back there, who put out the crème de la crème of any ideas they craft up. They use high-quality coffee goods, too!

SO many good things to say! First, Kate, the owner, and all of the staff are awesome! Charhause is very welcoming with their friendly employees and the calming color scheme. Excellent vibes here! It feels like a mix between a bakery and a coffee shop. Charhause is for everyone, but especially people with food sensitivities or intolerances. Everything is gluten free, but you’d have no idea if no one told you. They also have some dairy free and egg free options. I’m gluten free and mostly dairy free. My wife and I both had egg sandwiches (mine with real egg, my wife’s with the vegan egg option). I had the one with ham and chose the english muffin. It was beyond delicious! The english muffin was the best gluten free english muffin I’ve ever had! My wife, who is not gluten free, agreed. My wife was so very happy to have a vegan egg sandwich - she said it tasted exactly like real eggs. Anyone who makes my wife happy is A+ in my book. 😊 We also got a blueberry muffin, cinnamon bun, and peanut butter banana parfait (dairy free) to go. They didn’t last long at home! All were extremely yummy! We kept saying, “Damn, that’s good!” with every bite. In my opinion, the prices are very reasonable. Where else can you get a gluten free english muffin breakfast sandwich with home fries for less than $10?!?! Nowhere that I know. Plus, the quality of the food is so good the prices are beyond fair. Go early to get a table and baked goods before they sell out...

I called ahead to see if they had any pastries that could accommodate my soy allergy and they took initiative to look at the recipes to confirm which products I could have. They also mentioned that for the grill they could accommodate and make just about anything I wanted with butter on the side. When we arrived, the atmosphere was super chill, welcoming, had tons of plants and attractive decor. There were two display cases for baked goods. One had macarons and the other had their made daily things that included cookies, muffins, cake, cupcakes, oatmeal pies and so on. Each one had a tag that clearly marked any allergens which made it easy for someone like me to figure out what I could have. At the counter, I asked a few clarifying questions and they had a clear answer for each! They even handed me the bag of bagels and English muffins so I could confirm on the ingredients. All good stuff! My SoCal Sammie on a cinnamon raisin bagel (without aioli) was excellent and didn’t even make it home🤣. I also ordered an iced chai latte, cinnamon bun and blueberry muffin.
