Three J's Cafe — Restaurant in Bolton

Kinda dingy, worn out. Probably a popular spot on typical "bar nights", Tuesday night is probably not one of those nights. Seems popular with some of the older locals from what I saw on this one visit. Main room and Bathroom definitely show their age and a lot of past traffic. Nice patio in the back. I'm sure I would spend all of my time there if I were to come more often and it wasn't too crowded. Jukebox was too loud for a Tues night. I took advantage and played a loud song that I really enjoy, the rest of the patrons were completely unfazed. It looks like on certain nights, pool is free to play, I'm assuming the less popular nights. Looks like plenty of parking available. I was looking for a "restaurant" off I-84, around lunchtime, and saw a good review for this one. It was about 3.5 miles from the highway. I saw only pickup trucks parked outside, and then walked in at lunchtime (1pm) to find 7 men drinking beer around the bar, and nobody eating at the tables. It turns out the kitchen doesn't open until 4 pm, but they serve grinders(ham, turkey, roast beef, the usual). Or they have wraps. I chose a roast beef grinder and iced tea. The grinder was fine, and reminded me of a Subway sandwich. The clientele was nice ( one of the men moved a chair out of my way), and the young female bartender who took my order was nice too. Not sure if anybody else was working there. She disappeared to make my sandwich and returned. The 8-inch grinder and iced tea...

The last time I was there was about 9 years ago or so. I remember it as being kind of a dive. So I stopped there yesterday and what a surprise. The place was absolutely spotless. The bartender was pleasant and friendly. I walked around and stuck my head in the kitchen to take a peek and even Robert Irvine from Restaurant Impossible would have been impressed. The men's room was immaculate. Beer prices were good.
