I pride myself in always trying to make the best of even a very unpleasant situation or an unpleasant person to person encounter with someone; especially concerning one's business reputation ; however, I feel it imperative to post this very negative review, which I RARELY ever do. I am someone who frequents Bordentown Bagels and have probably patronized them since they opened many, many years ago, back in the 90's, not just to purchase 1-2 dozen bagels every weekend, but to make several early mornings visits on my way to work ..where I would purchase several dozen to share with co-workers, along with their flavored cream cheese , butters etc.., Since retiring, I still make it a point every weekend to pick up bagels and at least 2 dozen cinnamon sugar bagel centers for my grandchildren. Beside the normal few dozen bagels and butters, over the years,..I have ordered many many bagel trays from them for parties, funerals, holidays etc. regretfully, my mid morning visit at Bordentown Bagels ENDS today 1/10/22..as well as any further dealings with them!
I stopped on my way to visiting my grandchildren for my dozen bagels and 30 cinnamon sugar bagels centers...I was rung up for the order, handed the owner my credit cad and was then informed there were not 30 bagel centers and would be a few short..NOT A BIG DEAL, UNTIL... a young gentleman who was just standing around conversing with another patron and the owner at the register said (in a very pathetic voice) "Oh I wanted some of those" ...at that point the owner at the register asked how many he wanted he replied "4", she left the register with my credit card in her possession and told the woman completing my order to give him his 4, WITHOUT EVEN ASKING ME IF I MINDED !!!! NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT TO ME WHATSOEVER !!She took out the four, and the owner then deducted the 4 from my total bill...rang me up, without even a thank you, I'm sorry NOTHING..just took it upon her self to take 4 from MY ORDER to accomodate this gentleman ''friend'' of hers. How very rude, very unprofessional and distasteful , not to mention extremely poor judgement and customer service. I am so angry with my self for not walking out and leaving all of my order with the rude young gentleman who only purchased ''4'' and the extremely ignorant owner at the register !
I will make it my business to NEVER, EVER RETURN TO BORDENTOWN BAGELS IN THE FUTURE AND WILL ALSO MAKE IT MY BUSINESS TO CONTINUE TO TELL ANY AND ALL OF MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO ALSO PATRONIZE THEM what poor customer concern and total inconsideration for their long time loyal customers ! Besides their unprofessional ignorance, they are ..AND HONESTLY NEVER HAVE BEEN the most pleasant women to deal with .

Read moreI went there this morning (03/30/2024) to pick up an order for doordash. Since it was my first time there I wasn't sure who to talk to so I decided to stay in line till it got to my turn to pick up the order. When it got to my turn this young white girl to my left skipped me to talk to the lady behind me. I thought it was just a mistake at first but she kept helping the people behind me. I was shock and wanted to speak up but also a part of me felt uncomfortable because it would have probably come up as rude. I keep moving on to the front and a lady finally asked me what I wanted, I told her I was there to pick up an order for Robert. She instructed me to ask the lady by the register for my order. When I did asked the lady by the register, she also disregarded to check for my order but instead told me it not ready. Meanwhile the order had been sitting on the shelf for the whole entire time since I got there. I really don't know if this was an act of racism or complete disrespect but either way my first time to this place felt miserable. I'm surprised a lot of people seem to enjoy going there. Probably it because it the same people they know. But as a business you need to LEARN to treat everyone like they matter. Not just pick and choose who you want to serve. If you want to serve a certain group of people just be straight forward or better have a sign that says that. But people come in hoping for a good service. Anyway I reported y'all to doordash and I won't be coming there anymore. Good luck to the other doordash person that chooses to come there. Hope he's not a person of color 🤷🏽♂️. Because at the end of the day we're all humans and we all deserve to be treated...
Read moreI have been coming here since I moved here in 2011 and was loyal to ONE other bagel shop since 1990 in North Jersey. When I found this place … game changer !!! The staff is amazing, friendly and kind. The service is fast and perfect every single time !!!
I have never had not one problem until today when a new girl made my order. I watch her take her time with the people ahead of me.; just works very slowly. I gave her my order and told her twice to toast the whole order and three of them were with salt, pepper & ketchup. I watched her make my order and she was assembling the sandwiches without toasting them.
After a half hour drive home, not one sandwich had salt, pepper, & ketchup AND one of the sandwiches was NOT toasted. Instead of going back to the one sandwich she already made that was not toasted to fix it, she wrapped it anyway and bagged it. Just lazy and doesn’t care enough to make an effort !!! SMFH !!! She seems cranky and looks like she doesn’t want to be there !!! All the ladies there are always smiling, happy and friendly !!!
One of the sandwiches is now in the air fryer being toasted. Our family loves this place but today was irritatingly annoying to watch that new girl fck up in every way … the ONLY spot that’s worth waiting in line for or driving far for !!! This place gets 5 stars and the girl...
