I wish I took a picture of the food because it was absolutely delicious!! I walked in and told the owner (I’m assuming he’s the owner) Dave that it was my first time having trini food. He was so outgoing and gave me recommendations! I had the buss up roti which was unreal, so fresh, soft and doughy! I got a potato pie with scorpion habanero hot sauce in it, which him and another patron forewarned me would be spicy. I loved it (wouldn’t get it if you’re sensitive to heat)! The filling was perfect and the dough around the pie was pillowy yet crisp in all the right places. Lastly I got the roti chicken which came with potato and chickpea (I think it was in a curry sauce) and pumpkin. It was FANTASTIC! I’m not usually into sweet stuff but the pumpkin blew my mind. Definitely going back. Dave was incredibly friendly and helpful and you can tell he puts a lot of effort into maintaining the place and the upkeep. The outside is cute with lots of plants and signs, like a rainbow garden 😍

Read moreThe minute I entered their restaurant, Dev/Dave (pardon me) and Asif were very friendly. I told them it was my first time at the restaurant and asked what each of the dishes were.
Dave had such a warm demeanor and talked about all the dishes with passion. I asked him to tell me about the dishes but he gave me a bite of everything to try before buying.
Doubles - 5* Dal - 5* Potato curry - 5* Polourie - 5* Callaloo - 4* Flaky roti - 4* Stew & curry chicken - 3.5*
I bought doubles, potato curry, curry & stew chicken, Calalou, flaky roti & polourie.
Doubles was amazing, so was the potato curry.
Polourie is a fried dough ball topped with tamarind chutney, spicy sauce w/scorpion pepper(I think) and cucumber. That was great!
I'll be back to try some of their goat &...
Read moreWe went close to closing on Mothers day and got our fill of Trini food - no one complained about the food at home and everything I ate tasted great. We ordered for 4 but kept adding things to take back just to have later. The owners who served us remind me of the everyday older generation folks from Trinidad and were kind and patient as we kept adding to our order. I had to drive almost an hour to get to this place, and I will have to go back! The shop itself is small and right on the corner but there is no parking out front and a small lot to the side so go down one of the side streets for a spot.
All in all - good food, good vibes, reminiscent of being in Trinidad - recommended esp for the curry beef and roti. Mandatory if you...
