Read moreWe like to stop at local coffee shops whenever we travel. We found this one on Google driving from Indiana to Branson. As soon as we walked in, the environment was very inviting. There were several people sitting and enjoying their stay and several people in line.
The line was long but we enjoyed the atmosphere while waiting. When it was our turn, we understood why the line didn’t move fast. Amber, the GM, is very friendly. She asked our names and where we’re from. She wasn’t trying to collect our money and move on. She was creating an experience.
We placed our order and went to sit and wait. While we did, a couple musicians stepped onto the small stage and played some great music. It wasn’t too loud and it was obvious everyone in the cafe enjoyed it as much as we did. As we waited, we watched the staff interact with customers as they delivered their orders. Nothing was rushed. Everyone was kind.
I ordered a cold latte with their homemade bourbon syrup and my husband ordered the same but hot. We also got a slice of quiche and gooey butter cake with homemade whipped cream. Everything was fantastic.
When we were about to leave, the owner, Michelle, stopped what she was doing to have a conversation with us. She was genuine and kind. This is a rare service. The food and coffee could have been just ok and we would return because we were treated with genuine kindness by everyone. Bourbon Cafe is in the business of building relationships and not processing orders. If you want a personalized experience where you feel like you matter more than your money, this is the place to go. Try to stay at least an hour. You won’t regret it. We could’ve easily stayed half the day. We will be back! Thanks Amber and Michelle and the rest of your team for a...
Read moreI'm not one to leave anyone a 5 star review. However, this little gem is well deserved of 5 stars. The experience begins the moment you walk in the door. If Paul is playing his guitar, the experience begins the moment you open the door. Walking in gives you the feeling that you are in a mountain town. You just might look outside to be sure you are still in Bourbon. The staff and owner are genuinely delightful. There is a large table in the middel that fits 12 people. This the community table. If there are a couple elderly folks at this table, they are probably waiting for you so they can share some stories. I've only ever had two different drinks. A hot tea that I believe was from the owners personal garden. If you talk with her she might tell you about what seasonings and spices are homegrown and or made. The other drink is my favorite, the Bourbon Brew. Can't remember exactly how this is made but don't really care, its delicious. I believe it is the most popular drink. As for food, the Bacon Breakfast Panini is amazing. Even heard that a visitor from Italy said it was the best sandwich she ever had. Its the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had and ties for 1st of all sandwiches. Go grab some food then head out to one of the local streams or state parks for some hiking...
