Please disregard this NASTY REVIEW OF MY RESTAURANT!! This person is an employee from a neighboring business that obviously has a problem with me and has decided to SLANDER my business with FALSE ACCUSATIONS !! Please read all of the reviews of my restaurant from other customers and you will clearly see that 99.9% of them have been overly satisfied with their visit to my restaurant! I personally invite YOU to visit the COUNTRY SKILLET CAFE in BOURBON, MO and tour my kitchen and see for yourself how CLEAN it truly is!! As for the fly strips, at least I’m trying to keep them from getting inside my restaurant! Pest control visits my restaurant EVERY 4 WEEKS!! I know the TRUTH and I’m confident that people that have visited my restaurant will clearly see that this is just an ATTACK ON MY BUSINESS and SO PETTY!! I would APPRECIATE it very much if you do visit my restaurant, to please leave an honest review! “Thank You” for your support! I APPRECIATE YOU and YOUR BUSINESS! ~Torie (owner)❤️

Drove to Sullivan early this morning hoping to get a load of sand at Havin’s. They were closed. On the way back home I started to get hungry. My first thought was to go onto Shelly’s in Cuba followed by its Monday so Shelly’s is closed. By then, driving on Route 66 I was almost to Bourbon. So I decided to stop at the 66 Country Skillet Cafe. Looking around the dining room and reading their our story paper, it was obvious that this place was locally owned. Still not sure what type or size of eggs they use. Look at the picture that is just two eggs! Large slice of ham and a huge portion of home fries. And the side of gravy eaten with the biscuit would rank as the third best restaurant gravy I’ve had. Well worth the price as supporting local family owned businesses changes the world one meal at a time.

Absolutely amazing place! As soon as you walk in you can see the love that went into this business. We had the classic cheeseburger with sidewinder fries, the chicken fried steak sammie, and mini corn dogs kids meal. Service was fabulous! The food was incredible! My son LOVED the chocolate pie for dessert. Incredibly affordable! Great prices. If you want a classic small town Missouri Cafe experience, this is your place! Right on Route 66 too. 🥳 My mom would have LOVED that farm raised burger.

We waited outside with our 3 year old grandson for 20 minutes in 97 degree heat. I guess that’s on us. When we finally got called in the table wasn’t clean so we waited another few minutes for this. Our waitress was very busy with a large group and motioned to us 3 times that she would be right there. This was another 15 minutes before she came to take a drink order. We gave her our complete order because we were now going on 40 minutes and our 3 year old grandson was holding on but we didn’t know for how long. After we asked, one of the servers brought him 4 crackers. We did get our drinks but after another 20 minutes and no food in site we decided we better just leave. We got there at 1:08pm and left at 2:15pm without eating. When I went up to pay for our drinks the staff was shocked that we were leaving and made a big deal about our order was now coming up and that some of it was already on the counter. We still had a long drive ahead of us. After I paid for the drinks with a credit card they gave me cash back to cover the drinks. They were very apologetic while explaining about two large groups that came in before us and how this caused our order to have to wait. They closed at 2:00pm. It was a Sunday. I’m sure folks were looking forward to going home. Just a lot of things lined up to make this an unfortunate experience for us. I was sitting where I could see the kitchen and I noticed the waitresses frequently looking to see if one of their orders was up and then moving on to do something else when it wasn’t. I saw somebody’s order sit under the lamp for over 10 minutes before it was taken with other food to a table. I guess the two big groups and maybe a complicated mix of orders made the kitchen run slow. The cook appeared to work at one speed (kind of slow) no matter how big the rush of customers was. I could be wrong but that’s what it looked like to me. Hope you have a...

This restaurant is a hidden gem off of HWY 44 in Bourbon MO. It’s decorated beautifully inside, warm and inviting. There are a lot of fun things to look at on the walls and the place is as neat as a pin, even the bathroom is perfectly tidy. I especially liked looking at the old records on the walls. I liked the wooden tables. Feels like you’re sitting at a good friend’s home. The atmosphere feels comfortable and familiar. When you arrive, you are immediately seated and promptly waited on with a smile. The portions are huge, yet the prices are affordable. You get so much food! Literally the hashbrown order is enough for two people. Everything I have tried has been amazing, lunch or breakfast items. I have had fish, cheeseburgers, biscuits/gravy, hashbrowns, btl, fries, french toast, meatloaf..the list goes on, and all of it was absolutely amazing. Once people start to really figure out where this place is, I think they will need to expand!...
