Unsafe during a pandemic. Do not go too if you want to avoid getting COVID-19. I express this moreso because this is an establishment right off the expressway and likely has visitors from highly affected states.
Since this restaurant and gas station are in the same building Iām reviewing both. Didnāt try the food but stopped in for a drink. Grabbed a bottle from the fridge instead of a fountain drink from the restaurant because no customers were wearing masks and social distancing was not enforced. Employees at the establishment were also not wearing mask. When I asked if masks were not required, an employee whom was not wearing a mask informed me they can not enforce mask wearing rules. I expressed how unfortunate that is for their safety. I also expressed how I wanted to keep my space from a man not wearing a mask when I was prompted to approach the counter and he purposefully brushed my back when he walked past me.
Iām concerned for the one employee who was wearing a mask because she is an elderly woman and is exposed to many disrespectful customers who have no regard for her or the communityās safety. Wouldnāt be surprised if this becomes a hot spot for spreading COVID-19 due to the lack of protocols being followed.

When I arrived I was told it would be a little longer because they had a lot of cara in the drive thru. When I was finally given my food 10 minutes later and it was the wrong order. When I brought it up to tell them the girl behind the counter took the bags and didn't say anything. 20 minutes later I got my mostly right order. They apparently ran out of fries but didn't convey that to me when giving me my order. The only reason I knew was the cook said it to the girl who was handing out orders. At no time was I apologized to or talked to at all. The girl handling the inside orders had an attitude and not personable at all. The kitchen also seemed very chaotic and lacked proper communication. So basically I had to wait an extra 30 minutes to get my order, which had no fries and there were beans on the torta when they weren't supposed, was given the wrong order, practically ignored by the employee and was not treated like an actual customer or even fellow...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered a chicken burrito. They gave it to me wrapped in foil and sandwich paper in a bag with some hot sauce and napkins. When I got to my vehicle and opened the bag, the napkins were soaked and the bag was wet inside. I thought one of the little plastic cups of hot sauce leaked. When I unwrapped the burrito I realized all the leakage was because they cut the burrito in half like it was a wrap or a sub sandwich. I went back inside and asked for it to be redone because burritos arenāt supposed to be served cut because the ingredients typically leak. They said āthatās how we make them.ā Because of my age, the fact Iāve lived in Texas, Arizona, and other places around the country, and travel constantly, I eaten (and made) way more burritos than any of the people I encountered at Ta Canijo.
