Came to Long Cafe to see how the food is for the first time in over 5 yrs or more. I use come all the time to the Long Home Cafe. It seems to be the same atmosphere for the most part. The food is good, the waitress was great and on all needs to keep the coffee cup ☕️ filled an so forth. When I took my ticket to pay for breakfast 😋. I had set in the back dinning room. I made my way to the front to pay for my meal. When I walked past the buffet and the counter by the kitchen. There was a young girl standing behind the counter. She made her way to the front to take my payment. I felt like as if I was being watched ( like I was not going to pay) walking from the back dinning room and the young lady was very condensending, rude, ambiguous adittude. I see why I quitt coming to Long Horne Cafe. The intire experience was great except for the casher. I felt so disgusted with her adittude, where ask me about leaving a tip I said no because of the way she was treating a customer and I made a joke about was you watching to see if I were going to make my way to the door without paying. She just looked like she got up on the wrong side of bed this morning and brought her issues with her. Now that I thank of it I wish would have given the tip. I let my decision get based off the cashier rudness. I don't know the new staff but I the waitress a 5 stars and the cashier 0 no stars. The...

I don't know exactly what happened, but it wasn't me... there was no comments attributed to the rating, just a single star - anybody that knows me knows that I've always got an opinion on anything and everything. Even so, the owner, Scott Davis, apologizing for the poor rating.
Well, Mr. Davis, here is my actual rating, albeit a little late.
I love the Longhorn, and often recommend it to acquaintances and use it to meet my friends. It is good, simple, old fashioned, unapologetic country fare, the type of food you see in the movies where the local diner is a big part of the community. The only reason I didn't give the last star was because it could be a little cleaner. That's for two reasons, the first being that I'm rather picky, and the second is because of the high traffic volume the cafe has. People go there in large numbers, starting early and staying late. And most of them are hard working folk who've been out working cattle of building stuff since sunup, so they have dirt on their boots.
The Longhorn is a good value, and deserves you giving it a shot. When you could just die for a chicken fried streak with country gravy, this is where you should start looking.
Sorry Mr. Davis, I don't know what happened, and maybe this will...
Read moreSmall town restaurant with a good breakfast and lunch buffet. You can order from the menu, but the buffet is where the action is. Everyone is very nice and it's obvious it is a local coffee hangout for the older crowd. The food is plentiful and the staff work constantly to keep the buffet loaded. Selection is good and it's American comfort food (fried chicken, chicken fried steak, mash potatoes, green beans, other veggies, salad, fruit, ice cream, cobblers, etc. Breakfast has pancakes, biscuits and gravy, cereal, oatmeal, bacon, sausage, fruit, and much more. Plenty of good options for the kids. Overall the food is good. Wait staff works hard, are friendly, and are always nearby.
My only real complaint is the aisles are not very wide so its difficult to get by people carrying full plates of food and it's hard not to crowd up against folks who are seated and trying to eat.
During busy times, parking can be a problem and there is not much room by the entrance so it piles up with people trying to enter / exit...just have...
