Oscar's is easily the best Mexican food we've found in the area. The food is fresh and very flavorful. The fish tacos were phenomenal, yet I would still have trouble going to back to them each visit only because every other dish I've tried has been nearly or equally as good (including the brisket, cajun chicken, and steak fajita burritos). We frequently take food home, but eating at Oscar's is a pleasant experience, particularly on a nice evening when you can enjoy sitting on the screened in porch. They have a few options for younger (and pickier) eaters, including a hot dog quesadilla. (Bonus points for selling imported Orange Fanta - the sugar-based, non corn syrup version is a special treat!). The staff are wonderfully friendly and are quite grateful for those who compliment their food, which doesn't take much effort. A GREAT find and...
Read moreMeh. Attitudes, shady looks when we walked in and up to the counter. Owner was sitting at the register on the phone and didn't even acknowledge my wife when she said hi. Still ordered against my best judgement because we hadn't really eaten all day and were really hungry. As hungry as we were the food was pretty bland. Barely any seasoning on anything in the burrito. I'm used to tasting cumin, chili powder, a little garlic. Couldn't pick up any of these spices at all. The pinto beans on the burrito - no flavor. The peppers on the burrito - no seasoning and hard skins, the beef on the burrito - not tender at all, in fact hard bites, even the rice on the burrito - barely any flavor. You're getting a mish-mosh of multiple un-spiced items thrown in a wrap with added guac and sour cream which is what you will taste the most of. ...
Read moreThe bad part: I made the mistake of visiting on Cinco de Mayo. The staff wasn't dealing well with being very, very busy. Online orders weren't getting worked on until the customer showed up and asked about it. So if you didn't loudly assert yourself you got ignored and so did your order. Walk-in customers were helped immediately, as long as they similarly asserted themselves. So it was a great occasion to be a rude inconsiderate person. The food is very bland for an authentic-ish style place, especially the salsa. Walmart brand mild has more heat.
The good part: it's very inexpensive, given the location and generous portion size. It is good, but definitely ask for some hot sauce if you like any spiciness at all. You get to see your food made right in...
