Terrible is the least I have to say about Y Tea. A couple of weeks ago when I went, the staff there was not doing their job properly. Instead of focusing on orders, they were joking around while making my drink. Normally, I wouldnât mind , but it became a problem when they messed up my drink and also told me they were out of boba. What made it worse was how unprofessional they were when calling my number saying it in a sarcastic, mocking voice as if it were a joke. Despite all of this, I decided to let it go and give them another chance. Until today. When I went back, I ordered a mango milk tea with popping boba because once again they had run out of regular boba (HOW IS A BOBA PLACE OUT OF BOBA) . Even at the start, they messed up the input of my order and had to clarify four different things. If running out of boba wasnât enough, they also ran out of regular-size cups. After clarifying with me that I wanted mango milk tea, they still ended up making a mango green tea. To make matters worse, during this process, they confused our drink with someone elseâs and were just laughing it off instead of taking it seriously. That kind of behavior shows they werenât paying attention to customers at all. Then they got the manager involved, and instead of addressing the poor service or the repeated mistakes, the managerâs response was, âdonât mess with the staff.â First of all, your a boba spot with no boba, you donât have cups, and on top of that, I canât even get the one drink I ordered without multiple mistakes. Finally, after all of this, they remade the drink, but when I got it, it was halfway full with two full scoops of ice. After taking out the ice, there was maybe 2/5 of the cup actually filled. Thatâs just unacceptable. I really do like the drinks here when theyâre done correctly, but as long as the staff treat their job like a joke, laugh off mistakes, and continue being unprofessional even with their manager present, I will not be revisiting this place. I recommend that readers of the...
Read moreMy first time trying out Y-Tea today and it did NOT disappoint. It's the best boba tea place that I've tried so far in the Northern VA area. I love that you can order ahead online for pickup. The online ordering was really easy and simple. I ordered the taro milk tea with coconut sago, Hokkaido milk tea with tiramisu foam, and the Vietnamese sea salt coffee. They were all so delicious!! This place is definitely a hidden gem. It's hidden among townhouses and apartments. Although I didn't stay inside, the inside looked really clean. The employees were helpful and greeted me when I walked in.
I went on a Saturday at 5pm and it wasn't busy at all but I think it's because not a lot of people know about this gem yet. It's not crazy expensive like other boba places, in my opinion. I got the large sizes and it's huge, also decently priced whereas other boba places charge a lot for a large size that's not even as large as what you can get here.
I really hope they stay in business and if you're in the Ashburn area and craving boba, definitely give them a try. I'm for sure going to go and try other drinks...
Read moreHooray Loudoun has a boba-specific store that is not Kung Fu Tea!!!!! Found out about this place from a friend who lives right near this place and I was shook that it's so close by! I went in today to try the Vietnamese Sea Salt Coffee with coffee jelly and boba at 100% sugar (oops didn't see sugar level is adjustable 100%, 50%, 25%, 0%) and it was quite good! Make sure to mix the cream top in to the rest of the drink (with the cap off since the straw is a bit short but cute because it is heart shaped!) Apparently 90% of their drinks use fresh fruit and no powder and if powder is used in the few other drinks only high quality powder is used! The inside store aesthetic is really spacious, modern, and cute! The owner(?) is also really nice and informative. Definitely would go back and again! So happy Ashburn has a boba place! Will post about Y Tea on my food IG @foodooboos in...
