I wish i could give negative stars! I put in an order online which said it would be ready 20-30 minutes. Proceeded to drive to the restaurant and when I got there the order wasn’t ready (to which I figured not the end of the world and it should be done soon.) The hostess went to the back “to check if it was almost done” (her words, not mine) and I hear her start telling the cooks that she needs this and she needs that, lets go....basically sounding like they weren't even close to being done making my food. So I wait about 5 minutes and she comes back out asking “sorry what name did you say it was under again?” - mind you I had already given her my name in the beginning and I was a bit confused why she waited that long to confirm she had the right order. She disappears back into the kitchen and at this point I hear the kitchen staff yelling back and forth to each other swearing and using extremely vulgar language - and I’m not one who gets offended that easily. At this point I had enough and since they don’t make you pay online and she hadn’t run my card yet, I just left without the food. The hostess called me a few minutes later and told me the food was ready. I told her there was no way I was eating food after what I had witnessed at the restaurant and that the kitchen staff’s language was absolutely disgusting. The owner did try calling me but I wasn’t in a place with good service when they called so I didn’t answer. I received a text after which said, “Hi this is Asian gourmet l am the owner so sorry about it I will take care it won’t happen again.” At least there was that but by that point we had already gotten replacement food from Panda North down the road and I’m glad we did because the food was amazing!! This is a family ran business, any time I have had a issue with my order, the owner and wonderful caring father has even offered my money back and was extremely friendly. He even drove all the way to Putney after closing around midnight to help me when I had a flat tire. He puts so much dedication into endless hours of prep work and yes 3 weeks ago his wife had to leave early and was in the hospital because of a developing condition that is personal and very serious and he only has his mother who doesn't speak English and another guy to handle all the door dash, takeout and delivery orders and deliver them. So someone has the odacity to complain about not being able to get their dine in service that night? He is also a landlord for 7 properties and has to deal with all his tenants while cooking and running his restaurant. He works very hard and is very patient and always busy. Our society definitely needs more caring and friendly people like him. And as far as food not being fresh, no meat in the dumplings or no sauce on their main course (he cooks them and makes the sauce every time as he knows his recipes by heart) those are flat out very misleading accusations. Just because your spouse is cheating on you and your having a bad day does not call for flat out lies to be put on Google for reviews. Read moreI was looking to do something fun for my daughters. We decided to get Chinese food and watch the new trolls movie. Showtime in the living room was at 8pm (my daughter are 7 so we made it like a movie theater). Ordered the food at 6:30 thinking that and hour and a half would be plenty of time. I called back at 7:45, they informed me that they were looking at an hour and a half to two hour wait on deliveries. So I assumed ok, well I’m already an hour and fifteen into it so it will be here in a half hour or so. No big deal we are an easy going family, in fact this is my first review ever, I felt like I had to get this off my chest. Well we called again at 8:30 and again at 9. At 9 they said it had left and was on its way.......well 10 rolls around and it finally showed up. The only thing more disappointing was the actual food. It was a total mess, duck sauce spilled out and made everything sticky, the food was cold and soggy, it was missing a few items. All around awful, the food previously was hit or miss, I ordered three sushi rolls a few weeks back and after one bite it went in the trash, the fish was clearly bad. I understand that this is a crazy time that we are going through but that leaves no excuse for the poor quality of everything about this, I would have much rather them tell me from the beginning that it would be a four hour wait.
