Nice venue, but possibly the worst customer service I've ever received from a snarly employee. My buddies and I were in Granbury from the Austin area for a golf outing and decided to check this place out. We were greeted by a friendly gal and settled in for a few drinks. One of the main reasons we went was to play Golden Tee. The GT machine did not accept credit cards (weird, almost all of them do) and we found ourselves in a rare situation of having no cash. They said they were working on getting an ATM but didn't have one. I suggested a simple solution to a bartender. Let me close my tab, give you a very healthy tip, plus an extra $15-20 that you can give me back in cash so we could play Golden Tee. My buddy and I tried to reason with several bartenders only to be told they could not do it due to pooling tips, polices, taxes, payroll, etc. Did they think we made an elaborate scam to bilk them out of $20? I mean how hard is it? You get a chance to make a tad extra money for the bar staff and that money is going into your vending machine. SMH
So anyhow, after all the frustration, I went to one of the bartenders to close out and explained that I was intentionally leaving a measly tip (I have worked in the restaurant industry and almost always leave 20-25% tips, unless the service was really poor).
So some other employee (maybe a shift lead or lower level manager?) comes in and starts getting real wise with me, saying sarcastically that the larger tip isn't going to affect them, that I should have brought cash, blah blah blah. I could perhaps accept that 20 or even 10 years ago, but in 2022 it seems they should have a way to accept the money we were trying to give them!
So this smarmy fella, probably mid-20's, medium height with reddish long curly hair was extremely unprofessional, cocky and rude. I think the one of bartenders could have asked a manager or accommodated the simple request, but I don't really fault them as they are probably not empowered or allowed to think for themselves...but this smart aleck guy should be fired or get some training on dealing with paying customers.
I do not write reviews very often at all, but felt compelled to do so here because of this employee's crummy attitude and...
Read moreThe venue is lovely. There are large oaks on the grounds along with antique kiddy cars, trucks, water basins, and signs stating, "Please don't climb the trees." There are full bathrooms, a bar, space for food trucks, picnic tables, and many tables and chairs. The dance floor is concrete and is roughly the center of the open area.
There are lights strung through the trees, and the stage could be utilized for a wedding, award ceremony, crowning of a prom king and queen, basically any event where you would like honorees to be front and center. The bar's air conditioning, even with 100 degree weather outside and the doors open on the stage side, was working well. My husband and I ate inside the game room area and watched pro football on the televisions. Due to the heat, my husband and I were drinking a lot of water. Unfortunately, the bar doesn't sell bottled water, so I was happy the...
Read moreBest event venue in Granbury! Besides hosting private parties and charity events, they have a great live music lineup each month. Although the outdoor area is huge but seasonal, depending on the weather, the indoor area is large with a separate room with pool tables and video games. So rain or shine, hot or cold, this place is good anytime of year! Food trucks are on-site during open hours and I have been told the food is good and very reasonable. Very large drink menu and very friendly service. Great place to watch games with a large outdoor screen and multiple screens inside. Stop and visit if you are in the area, take a step back to a simpler time and soak in the nostalgic ambiance, you will be...
