Misaka Sushi — Restaurant in Brentwood

This was the worst dining experience I have had in years. It was a Saturday and the place was crowded but no one told us they were slammed when we arrived. We ordered food and about 45 minutes later the cucumber salad arrived. The water glasses sat empty. I asked the waiter what the problem was, and was told that they were slammed with a big party and 8 Uber eats orders...as I told him, that is not my problem. I took over an hour for the food to arrive in dribbles and I would say we did not have the food on the table for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Let me say it was not the waiter's fault, so I asked to speak to the manager. When I told her (a young women that looked about 22) she started arguing with me that she had looked at the ticket and it had ONLY been 45 minutes...as if that was acceptable, or that the waiter had not wandered the floor before putting in the ticket, or that it was just the cold cucumbers after 45 minutes. She also gave me the endless excuses (such as it was the hostesses 1st day...yada, yada, yada) and implied it was my problem for not having the patience to wait 1.15 hours for her inability to produce cold food in under that time....you know, the customer is never right concept!

I had been extremely polite and that fact that not only did she not once apologize, but said, and I quote here, "We were welcome to never eat there again."

I am old enough to have never had that said to me, EVER by a manager and I wonder if the owners realize what a ill-tempered, ineffective manager they have running their restaurant. I am appalled and not only will never go back but we intend to post here in Trilogy where there are 1000 households so that no one eats there again from here. Shameful behavior and consider yourself warned as there are plenty of other sushi options in Brentwood, none of which has a manager that should never be near a restaurant...

I’ve been to this restaurant a few times food is excellent but with my recent experience Saturday evening, I have given this review at a two star. Arrived at 5:15 only had to wait 15 minutes to get a table which was not bad but after that took 2 1/2 hours to get four sushi rolls and I ordered a Ramen bowl which is one of the best I’ve had at this place unfortunately after getting my hopes up for three or four days of having one on Saturday they forgot to put it on the order after 2 1/2 hours of waiting, so left without ever getting it ,the waitress said the kitchen was busy, and there was somebody ahead of mine, which I know was a lie. Since the table next to us sat down a half hour later, and all of them had their Ramen bowls and a dozen sushi rolls so somebody dropped the ball I have not had this experience the few prior times eating at this restaurant and like I said food is excellent always a little slow but not this bad. Seems like somebody would maybe understand how busy they are on the weekend and bringing a few more people for help in the kitchen or put a stop to the takeout orders so the people that are actually eating in can get their food like I said arrived at 5:15 did not leave until 8 o’clock for four . sushi rolls . Even though the food is good, it is not worth waiting three hours for and some of it not getting pu on the order I’m sure I will return in the future but never again...

Let me start off by saying the food at this establishment is amazing. Fresh ingredients, amazing sushi, and and probably the best ramen in the East Bay. The problem that I seem to keep running by is the staff and their terrible service and lack of understanding their own menu. The first time I went here was during a slow period mid pandemic so the service was fast and easy. But the second and this most recent time, we visited during a busier time. During both of our visits we had the same server. This server is awful. Both times she payed no attention to any of our needs and took my order down wrong this past visit. I got my food and I had ordered a spicy black garlic tonkostu. I instead got a normal one. I asked her about it and she even showed a lack of understanding her own menu by saying that the ramen I ordered doesn’t come spicy. All of the ramen can come spicy as requested. It says right on the menu. I’d recommend ordering take-out. Avoid the terrible staff and eat from the comfort of...
