Some endeavors, say golf, are inherently unpredictable. Perhaps that's a key reason Freemans' Grill stands out: it exudes consistency - and in the best way. Stalwart servers Max, Ashley and Manager regularly exceed expectations. And regardless of how many putts lipped out or pesky pines impinged on one's chip to the green, Freemans' service makes you feel like you just hoisted the Club Championship trophy after an extra hole. And the fresh fare and generous libations simply complete the experience. Recently, my wife and I sauntered in late morning to just catch the warm, hefty breakfast sandwich - a breakfast staple here whether you're a scratch player, weekend wannabe or humble roving foodie. Whether going straight egg-and-cheese on an oversized English or bagel or adding a heap of mild ground chorizo (Portuguese sausage) bacon or sausage, this sandwich soars . And did I mention its customary feature - a tender potato patty? If you're thirsty, coffee's strong and mimosa's come tall, tantalizing and as bubbly as a Lawrence Welk re-run (OK, maybe not quite so much.) We had the rueben and some chicken wings. Both yummy. Great fries and not too many. Hot and crunchy. It was a rainy night and the AC was blowing on us. I'm guessing it's a good atmosphere for a warm summer day but for us cold, not helped by a table of heavily drinking golfers who were loud, and super crude. The hard surfaces amplified their noise. We should have sat with everyone else at the other end of the restaurant with everyone else. It was too late by the time we figured it out. Staff was awesome....

The service and management here is so kind and incredible. I eloped in Brewster in a small ceremony but still had 25 guests. We had reservations for after the ceremony at a local restaurant but it closed down 20 min before we were due to be seated. I was in a total pinch. Freeman's took us in on a Friday night and accommodated 25 guests without any prior planning. The owner was understanding and so weren't the waiters. The food was delicious and the drinks were great.
