I always go to get a quick meal post-gym on saturdays around brunch time with my nephews. We decided to frequent Frankies this weekend. I hadn't been here since maybe 2015 when I went for a post college graduation meal! My older nephew got BLT club, the younger got a chicken club sandwich. I opted for an omlette, grits and toast. We noted that it did take a while to get our food - and i could swear we were in before another table that did get their food, but I couldn't confirm that...maybe I was just hangry! lol anyway, food finally did come and it was tasty and well presented. The one thing I enjoyed the MOST was the side of potatoes that came with my omlette. They were crispy, well seasoned and bomb. There's a diner we go to normally in stratford that does potatoes and they are trash. So I was happy to get some good ones! I would come back just for those. The boys were happy with their food. The ambiance of the place was very cozy. I could tell a lot of the customers are regulars. Parking was ample, easy in and out. I didn't check out the bathroom.

Frankie’s Diner is a local, old style diner that we visited for dinner while in Bridgeport, CT. The Gyro with chicken was very good. —Generous portion and good price too. The Cheeseburger with Fries was average, and nothing special. …But the Chocolate Milkshake with Whipped Cream that was made by our Server, Lori, was absolutely delicious! So delicious that we ordered a second one and shared it! Admittedly, Frankie’s is not fancy, but if you’re looking for a nice meal that’s reasonably priced, I believe you won’t be disappointed… especially if you get Lori’s Chocolate Milkshake. PS. At checkout we enjoyed a very pleasant chat with Raymond, the Manager.

I got a pastrami sandwich which was pretty good but not great. The pastrami was on one half the bread and not the other which required some rearranging. My wife got a buffalo chicken sandwich and wondered why it was on a Portuguese roll. The chicken breast was small and fit better on the bread that way. But the food was pretty good and we left not hungry. I just feel like we there was more fries than sandwich. Some people might like this though. There is off street parking and an ATM. Plus the Cole slaw was quite mayo heavy but crisp and flavorful.

If it were me I wouldn’t rate this place a one star!! My first time coming here after a night out (1/12/19) We (4 people) sat down.. some lady took our order and then she comes back 10 min later saying she forgot to tell us we have to PAY for our food before the food comes out. I have never heard of this in my life!! How do you pay for food you haven’t gotten?? Plus this lady said she’s been working there for 6 years.. if you worked there for so long you know automatically what to say when you approach a customer. Plus there was no signs as you enter this place saying to pay before you eat. WE PAY anyways.. because we were hungry at that point. So we ask for a breakdown of the bill. She brings us the bill and walked away.. come to find out the bill wasn’t even ours. We ask for the manager to come over.. he comes over and asked “what do you want?” Who the hell comes to customers like that ??? So he brings us the actual bill and we notice that it already has the gratuity on it. We did not order much from here and they are asking us to pay the tip upfront. We had him take it off! At this point we are fed up and we finished our PAID for meals. We leave and as we’re pulling out of the parking space.. here comes the manager and security RUNNING out of the diner SCREAMING at us “YOU FORGOT TO PAY FOR THE FOOD”!! We told him we paid.. that’s YOUR policy we pay and then eat right?!!! He walked away and didn’t even apologize to us. I would not recommend anyone to go here!!! Discrimination is real!! And by the way out of the 4 of us, 2 are police officers. We will be reporting this.. it’s very unprofessional. Plus we noticed the 2 security guards were eyeing our table the whole time we were there. If you want your customers to pay upfront.. put a sign out in the front of place and we wouldn’t have...

I've been coming to Frankie's for close to 20 years for convenience and good food. Understandably they've implemented a late night weekend rule that requires ALL customers to pay before their food is given after midnight. This prevents drunk patrons from causing chaos and skipping out on the bill. HOWEVER it seems the waitresses use their own discretion on WHO they enforce this policy. Late Fri night 7/19 I go to Frankie's with my daughter after a long day. My very pleasant and new waitress, Dakota, followed the 'rule' as expected. However the table next to me arrived 5 minutes later and they were not held to the same rule by their waitress. After they FINISHED eating, I heard them ask for the check. What do you think is the difference between both tables, other than the waitresses??!?! They are white 🤨 I asked Dakota to clarify the specifics of the policy and she did. Then I asked the other waitress, who I've seen working there for a couple of years, the same. The other waitress lies and says the policy starts at 2am not midnight. So I ask the manager at the front, who also has worked there for years, to confirm which waitress is accurate. The manager repeated what Dakota stated. I repeat it for the other waitress who at this point is purposely trying to ignore me. Apparently Frankie's diner enforces policies only on certain races they assume will not pay. This is really pathetic, shameful, and unfortunate because now I will be sure to take my many friends and family years of business to a...

Me, my friend and our kids ate at this establishment on 3/21/25. For starters, we had to ask for our own kids menus. The server seemed disassociated, bored or probably over worked, they didn’t even put in our appetizer orders. The food was lacking so much. No flavor whatsoever. The salmon was not garlic glazed and the chicken parm grinder was really soggy. Even when our server asked if everything was ok (the one time she came to our table) we told her it was just okay… They also tried to charge us for the appetizers that we never got. I came back into the restaurant after paying to ask for a bandaid and I was then interrogated on why we did not leave a tip and also denied the band aid. Also the bathroom smelled like disgusting sewer!!!!

Edit for the bosses comment: you’re a liar, no one took turns smoking and no one was rude to staff. Trying to degrade and defame someone’s character and name because you got a bad review is actually sick. Call the police they might want to look into that horrid smell you’ve got coming from the bathroom! Also even if I got lettuce on my sandwich why was the chicken cutlet mushy? Try again. Take the bad review with dignity, you just keep making yourself look bad as a business and I’m not the only bad review up...
