Honey Dew Donuts — Restaurant in Bridgewater

This is for the Bridgewater MA location on Pleasant Street near Home Depot: I can’t start my day without a medium vanilla hazelnut iced coffee from Honey Dew. There’s just no better cup o’ java around. I’m also hooked on their breakfast sandwiches. My favorite is egg and cheddar on french toast bread but I recently tried the new maple chip pancake egg and sausage sandwich (yes, you read that right) and it was pretty phenomenal! The only thing the menu is lacking in my opinion is a healthy option like egg whites with fresh spinach and sun dried tomato spread on a multigrain wrap like Starbucks and Panera have. I would definitely get that if they had it. The best part of my Honey Dew experience, however, is the service. The crew at the Bridgewater shop are pleasant and friendly, especially Kerry. My wife and I stopped in yesterday to try these doughnuts. The staff was nice. The doughnuts weren't "bad", but they weren't good either. I got the chocolate icing glazed, which had pretty much no glaze whatsoever. It also tasted like it had been sitting out a long time. My wife got the honey dew glazed. It was nicely glazed, but the taste was like the cake-like powdered doughnuts you would get at a grocery store. Just tasted cheap. I will say, the inside of the doughnuts were soft and fresh. The outside of the doughnuts, not so much. Too, there wasn't a very big selection. Some choices were totally sold out, and the ones still there seemed old. Went to this location this morning and the girls were having trouble with the smoothie machine. They were turning lights out to try and reset the machine. Finally made 2 smoothies, my son took his 1st sip in the car and found chards of broken plastic. Took the 2nd one home to find chards of plastic in that one too. I spoke to the girls and they were apologetic. They stated a lot of things were broken down there! Sounds like management needs attention and help these girls out!!
