I was already a fan of their beer before I visited the brew pub. So, the four stars is mostly due to their high quality beer. Ironically, I actually do not like their signature beer, Long Trail Ale, but almost everything else they make is right up my alley from a palate standpoint. As for the food, it was decent, but didn't blow me away. It was better than what you would expect in most bars, and reasonably priced considering that this is a tourist destination, but nothing too special. My wife and I got there at around 4:45, which is soon after most of the ski slopes close, I believe. There was about a 35 minute wait when we got there, and we were able to quickly get a beer from the bar. Once seated, the service was very good. I ordered a beer braised bratwurst and fries and my wife ordered fish and chips. We also got a flight of beers to sample. Once again, the beer was excellent. While my brat was good, the bun was a bit large for it, so each bight was very "bready". The fish and chips were actually very good though, with good batter on the fish and a flaky consistency. The fries were good, but there isn't much to french fries anyway, so its hard to be impressed by french fries. There is a catwalk above the brewery that you can walk out on and look at the brewing facility, as well as a window next to the bar to look in on the brewery. There is also a gift shop with Long Trail branded gifts. The only other complaint I have is the parking lot. If you don't get in the closest lot to the building, there is another lot that is basically a mud pit... and I'm not 100% sure its just mud, as it smelled like cow manure. Don't wear shoes that you care about if you go when the...
Read moreI cant say enough about this place. I've been here about 10 times over the past 6 months and every time it has been a great experience. I'll start with the beer. They have a nice variety and really have an option for almost every type of beer lover. The bartenders are very willing to let you try any of their beers and will spend the time letting you know the story behind each. This is, of course much more difficult on busier days (and this place can get busy on weekends) but when you get your turn at the bar they dont rush through you to get on to the next person. Now on to the food. Only one word to describe it, phenomenal. I have eaten something different every time and was never disappointed. The pastrami sandwich was probably my favourite, with it's caramelized onions. As most of the other reviews show, the wings are some of the best I've ever eaten. Very meaty, always crispy on the outside, and covered with you choice of unique sauces to coat them to perfection. Needless to say I highly recommend Long Trail will continue to return when I have the chance. Not only for the great beer, but for the delicious food, relaxing outdoor seating, and beautiful setting...
Read moreMy girl and I came down from Waterbury Vermont to try something new! This place is quaint and fun and clean. The outdoor seating is so Vermont and the river out ack is open to all the patrons to sit in, play in and just be. There is a corn hole set too!
Ali, our host, so cute and kind. Said how nice we looked ❤️ showed us right to our table by the river!
Food is really good. The blackberry wheat BBQ sauce is something I have never had! It's amazing. I wish I had it in a bottle. 5 chicken tenders rolled in this sauce was super good. Nice tender meat and cooked perfectly. My girl got the steak and cheese and she equally felt her meal was excellent! Garlic aioli was delicious she says 😁 bread was soft and not like a boring plain sub roll, so it hugged the contents really well and kept the sandwich from falling apart! All the fries were fun and crunchy... I liked this. All the food came out hot and fresh.
Shout-out to Bob our server, Ali out front and Hillary in the back 🤗 Great job you guys....
