First off I am shocked that Cheryl actually sold her restaurant to foreigners from the city. On top of that these people only get business because of the history of this place. Really the only thing on the menu that isn’t just rigmarole breakfast is the cinnamon roll French toast. I order it all the time to go. Decided today to eat there. A few times it was burnt when I got it home but I was able to get it replaced and not be to upset. This time we get it, well it’s burnt on one piece. We are in a hurry so we just cut it off and tell the waitress she offers to make a new one but we say no it’s okay. Then we get about half way into the cinnamon roll and it is still liquid doughy goo. So we both stop eating and tell the waitress she at this point gets the owners wife to come out of the kitchen and tell us she is sorry but she will take it off the bill. We agreed and she come out with the new bill and she tries to charge us 12.99 plus tax for 2 slimy eggs over medium, rubber bacon and a cup of hot water and a Lipton tea bag. The cost of the meal was 15.99 pretty ridiculous anyways. I did not agree with her at all and told her that I will never be back to her place again. If Cheryl is still alive I’m sure she would be disappointed that she sold this place to outsider and on top of that people that charge crazy prices for things that cost almost nothing to make and the quality of the food is garbage. Almost 20$ for French toast 2 eggs and rubber bacon. SMH 👏😰 We need Cheryl’s place back in the hands of some locals that know how to cook and respect the wallet and not over charge us because they know we love the old Cheryl and the old place it was. Never will I ever go back. Kick rocks back to the city folks we...

Yesterday (July 2, 2016) my daughter and her friend and myself had breakfast at this AWARD winning establishment. I've been here about 10 times because we live in South Lyon. I've never had a bad breakfast and felt the awards for "best breakfast in Livingston County" spoke volumes. Yesterday was a completely different experience. It felt like an oven and extremely loud. I ordered 2 eggs, bacon, hash browns with rye toast. My daughter had the same and her friend had 1 pancake with bacon. We had 1 milk, 1 coffee and 1 water. How much you ask? This is were the story really gets good. $41.00 plus tip $50.00! LOL

I asked the server if this was correct and she assured me it was. I asked her to go through the bill and I stopped her after she explained that "the breakfast special your daughter and yourself ordered is $8.99) I said with a smile that $8.99 is not very special. She walked away. I left a $50.00 bill on the table and walked out without any confrontation and this was because my daughter and friend was with me but if I were alone I would have been beyond pissed. I used this as yet another life lesson for my 13 year old. The lesson was to be aware of changes in ownership as well as prices of items you want to buy and be careful of the "bait and switch" although I had no idea it happens with breakfast restaurants.

In closing the nationality of the owners and majority of the staff is Albanian. My guess is they keep the old name so people keep going there but will assure you that nobody is named Cheryl.

LAST TIME I EVER EAT...

There were 6 of us for breakfast, and we all ordered different things. Two of us had to send our food back to be cooked longer (and one of us ordered it well done). A third had blueberry pancakes and something was wrong with the blueberries (perhaps freezer burned?). We asked to have it replaced with French toast instead. We got several comments about how it was fine, and there was nothing wrong with it. Honestly, it shouldn't matter if you think it's fine, your customer couldn't stomach it, so you should replace it. And then we were charged for the pancake! When we asked to have the charge removed, as we didn't eat more than one bite and something was wrong with it, they argued with us. Finally, they removed PART of the charge. I'm highly disappointed. We've been going here for years, and this is the first time we've had problems. If they had just replaced the pancakes AND NOT CHARGED US FOR IT, we would have been happy. Why should we pay for 7 meals when we ate 6?? Now I'm so disgusted at how they treat customers, I...

We were looking for a restaurant close to our travels home and saw the reviews for Cheryl’s Place. Two of us ordered eggs, hash browns and toast and the other person ordered a tuna wrap. The eggs were our favourite part of the meal, but you could tell the hash browns came from real potatoes. 🥔 The tuna wrap was good and it came with a tomato on it which added to the flavour. My meal came with only 3 slices of toast instead of four - usually you get two slices of toast cut into four. And the server told me it was because my rye bread was big which it wasn’t. When she brought me another slice out, there were two slices instead of one. The outside of the building looks like a castle. There were plenty of parking spaces available. The level of sound got quite loud in the restaurant as it was an open air space type of restaurant. If we were closer, I would come back to eat here again.

Unfortunately overrated and overpriced. Another place that serves a frittata and calls it an omelette. Why? Because you can say there is meat in your dish but mix it into the eggs along with the other sprinkles of ingredients like cheese and whatever else... An omelette is the eggs by themselves with the ingredients inside the egg wrap. This is a mix of the thinnest sliced ham you have ever seen maybe 1/10 an once, even less cheese and folded over a giant wap of hash browns...what I had instead of a farmers omelette was closer to a hash brown omelette. That being said it tasted good, was hot and fast. But for $9 no way. Server was really nice, bathroom exceptionally clean.

I was impressed with the service! Everyone was rly nice food came fast and our waitress was one step ahead of us. I loved the cute decor style of the restaurant with home vibes and a clean style. Food portions were rly generous tho i noticed they dont cook with salt but you can certainly fix that. I ordered veggie Benedict’s and they were rly good with the Hollandaise sauce. My son’s breakfast was a good combo of scrambled egg, bacon, a pancake and a juice for only $9. My husband couldn’t finish his omelette as well he liked his breakfast. We both got a lot of hash browns in our plates. We would come back for sure if we are in the area again!
