Pemaquid Seafood — Restaurant in Bristol

We have been coming to pemquid seafood co-op for 20 years. We always loved coming here, and it was a part of many fond family vacation memories. We noticed a few years ago that the quality of the food and service were slipping, but we continued to return for the nostalgia. We almost didn’t return in 2022 after a few members of our family got food poisoning after our 2021 visit, but we were still reluctant to let go of tradition, which was a mistake. We returned in 2022, and received our food, immediately after which, the leg on the picnic table splintered and overturned on top of our family. We were all extremely shaken up and trying to check for injuries and move the table off of those involved. While members of our family were still on the ground, the shift manager came out and immediately started telling our party that the table wasn’t broken. He continued to repeat this, even as our family members were still on the ground. They begrudgingly remade the food that was spilled, which was of extremely low quality, and also stated one final time to us that the table was not broken. They never checked on injury, asked if we were ok, or apologized. Needless to say, we were absolutely appalled by the way we were treated, and will certainly not be returning to this...

✨Family owned business with real local feels. Outdoor seatings were perfect overlooking Pemaquid Beach and the beautiful water.

✨ We ordered the steamed lobsters and clams. They are kept live in the holding tanks and don’t get steamed until you order. They don’t serve alcohol but you can BYOB.

✨ The lobsters were about 1 1/4 lbs and perfectly steamed. They were so fresh and sweet! Definitely one of the best Lobsters 🦞 we’ve had. We loved them so much, we ordered a second round for everyone.

✨ Self-serve service, you order inside and they’ll call your number for pick up. Food came out quick and there’s always someone cleaning and flipping tables for the next guest.

Sadly the worst meal I’ve had in Maine. It was a beautiful setting, great harbor views but be prepared for a super laid back vibe. You order at the counter & when they call your order number, you go pick up yourself. Everything is served on styrofoam, cardboard, plastic…I ordered the fried shrimp meal…it was tiny popcorn shrimp that tasted like iodine. In my experience, menus specify if it’s popcorn shrimp? At the price I was seriously disappointed & would not have ordered that if I’d known…the baked potato was hard & cold & the salad was soggy iceberg that tasted like it was on its way to spoiled. My daughter got the salmon which was decent but still…. I would not come back. Unfriendly staff didn’t help either. So sorry I wasted one of my few opportunities for an evening meal...
