This place is a tourist trap and has all the crappiness of it. Even without the horrible service, the food was mediocre at best and waaayyyy over priced. Also we ordered at the counter and went to sit outside, it was a bit chilly so we asked to be seated at in the dining room (which had PLENTY of space) they told us they couldn’t because we ordered at the counter... umm what?! What we ate: Shared a lobster roll which comes with potato chips and a pickle $20 A cup of lobster stew $7 A cup of clam chowder $7 Can if soda and a bottle of water $2.50 each The soups: Chowder was mediocre and the lobster stew was awful. Pretty much just warm milk and butter with a few pieces of lobster in it and absolutely zero spicing to it. The lobster roll wasn’t bad, lobster was fresh, but we asked to substitute the potato chips for fries and unfortunately we did not realized this until we left, but they charged us for a side of fries (which was $7) and just left the potato chips out. This place is a nightmare and definitely needs some better management in customer experience.

You come here for the view. the lighthouse next to restaurant, outdoor seating, ocean as backdrop, sunset, music on Monday nights. What a romantic place to enjoy food and the ocean. They serve no alcohol. They tell you to bring your own. Only Monday nights has music. Food is decent, but not extraordinary. it's typical for a seafood restaurant. I got an admirals pie with scallops and lobster. we got tater tots nachos (no chips.... tater tots, with black beans, corn, cheese and jalapeños. The desert was superb. they bake their own pies. I had blueberry. outstanding. They do serve Moxie. The gift shop inside is quite expensive for souvenirs. The music was outstanding by Jud Brassel! superb musicianship for folk music.

One of our favorite spots to dine in Maine! We loved the Seagull before the fire and are so happy to be able to return this year and find the restaurant and shop rebuilt even better than before (the dining room is much larger)! We always enjoy eating breakfast while taking in the beautiful views of the lighthouse, the ocean, and the lobster boats. The shop is the quintessential gift shop with something for everyone from toys, to home decor, to made in Maine merchandise. They also have ice cream and snacks with outdoor tables to take in the beautiful view. Definitely worth the stop!

My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for over fifteen years. I think the food is tasty and the service is usually pretty good. Service can be very slow on the weekends as the crowd gathers to eat in the relatively small dining area, but once you get in, the views are great and the servers are usually very friendly.

I’m giving only a two star review because of the horrible service we received last Sunday as we waited to get in for their excellent blueberry pancakes. The dining room was full so we knew we wouldn’t be seated soon. That wasn’t the problem. I stood at the door waiting for the server (an older woman my husband said has waited on us before) to acknowledge my presence. She looked at me several times and never said a word - no “hello”, no “we’ll be with you in a moment”, no nothing! She completely ignored me and interacted with the other diners. Finally, after three or four minutes, a young woman greeted me, wrote my name down and said we should have a table in about 15 minutes. My four year old twins were with us so we decided to browse as we waited. I caught the eye of the older waitress through the glass window near the back entrance of the dining room and she just looked. There isn’t anything wrong with that but her whole attitude was really negative!

After approximately twenty minutes, we decided to get carryout because the boys were starving. We put our order in at the front counter. About twenty minutes later, now over 40 minutes since our arrival, the young woman who had taken my name, called and said a table was ready! I explained what we’d done and she told us that when our order was ready, we would be welcome to eat outside. She was very nice!! Again, no problem.

The main issue is that we waited for almost another forty minutes at the counter for our food!! The “not so nice older waitress” came by and talked about how busy everything was and disappeared into the kitchen. She acknowledged my husband but not me. That’s fine too, but when you have two hungry four year olds waiting for their favorite blueberry pancakes, over an hour is an eternity! The girls at the counter, both of whom, were very nice, kept telling us that it would be just a little while longer. The last time she came back to the register, she seemed really embarrassed as though she had discovered something. I decided to leave and just after I did, the order came out.

I have to say that after years of coming to the restaurant, we will not be back. To wait nearly an hour and a half and to have a senior server be so passively discourteous was very disappointing. The experience left a bad taste in our mouths. It’s a shame that one person could cause such a negative reaction but it did. Kudos to all of the wonderful young ladies who tried to entertain the boys while we waited but the wait and the action (or should I say inaction) of one person cast such a pall over our visit that we will...

I just called the Restaurant/Gift Shop to see if I can return a sort that was purchased last year (summer) for a Christmas present. The shirt was the wrong size and I wanted to exchange the shirt for a size smaller. When I called the shop in January, the Restaurant/Gift Shop was closed for the season and therefore the item could not be returned promptly. I then just called thinking the shop should now be open after the Memorial Day weekend. The person on the phone was first in the middle of talking to someone on the floor. I didn't know if this person was talking to me or someone else until they started shouting out orders and To Do's. I explained I wanted to exchange a shirt that was purchased last year and I wanted to send it back for an even exchange. The shirt has never been worn. As I was talking to her, she started talking to apparently some people who just arrived. I had to stop my explanation and start again. She then told me that she would have to see the condition of the shirt before she could make an even exchange. She obviously never heard that it was never worn. She also said that she didn't know if she has the one I have or if that shirt has even been reordered. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL Customer Service and Customer Attention. She then became focused on the people who just walked in because they seemed to be friends of hers. I've seen to many people these days who have this similar manner of not paying attention to an individual that is speaking to them. She obviously believes she can multitask between a phone conversation and people walking into her place of business. When I try to speak to someone, I really don't want to be part of another conversation that has nothing to do with what I'm trying to say. Based on the customer service alone, I would never recommend patronizing...

Beautiful spot!! However, they closed the dining room between 3 & and 4 pm without that being posted anywhere online, and several people were turned to sit outside in the mist and order take out if they wished.. very poor idea as a lot of folks are elderly . They do not have a lunch item of lobster, steamers, or corn on the cob meal as ALL the seafood places have in Maine . I was very disappointed and will always go to Pemaquid co-op when in maine now ... I actually opted to order the point grilled cheese, which was very good, but definitely not why I went there . I guess they count on the view to get people in.. Also, be careful in the bathroom on the right as the toilet paper cover flew open when I pulled on paper and a decorative pot, and a bottle of airfreshner hit me on the head . Our waitress was nice but the atmosphere at 230 was rushed to close for one hour at 3.. not the experience I had hoped for .. also, the menu online is out of date price wise . Grilled cheese, diet coke, prefab frozen hamburger with an Arnold Palmer 47 dollars!!!!! Tourists...
