We chose the Red Mill Inn because it was the evening before Easter and we had a party of 15 people and this was one of the few places that wasn’t booked. The one upside was that we actually got our own corner room because it was the only place where they could guarantee the entire party could eat together. Unfortunately, that’s where the good things end. The service was horribly slow… Not because they were that busy… It’s because our male server was not particularly competent. Case in point, we placed an order for some appetizers… Which are generally pretty quick and simple foods to prepare… And after waiting over half an hour, we had to hunt down the server and ask him where our appetizers were. By the time dinner came, there were a wide variety of orders ranging from steak for a couple people… Two pizzas for a couple others… To chicken Alfredo… A grilled salmon.
Out of our 15 guests, I would say that 50 to 60% of them when asked how their food was said “it was OK”… Which is not praise as the dishes were on the pricey side such as $20 for salmon… $24 for a small steak, etc. As an overall summary, I would say that for the price you’re paying… You can certainly do better. For example, the food at Texas Roadhouse is far superior… And costs less as a whole although you can certainly get into the mid $20 range for a bigger steak. We would’ve gone there, but they do not accept reservations… And absolutely will not guarantee that a party of 15 can sit anywhere near each other. Best wishes wishes wherever you...
Read moreWhat a disappointment this place was. We ordered two large pizzas for take out for some out of town guests. The pizzas were absolutely horrible. We had ordered a margharita pizza, which was mostly covered in flavorless sauce with a few thin rounds of mozzarella. There were large chunks of uncooked tomato and no basil. We also ordered a “Meet Meat” pizza. The crust was burned and blackened all around and the center was a cold greasy glob of meat. The cost for these two extremely subpar pizzas was $56 - we were so disappointed to have spent so much for such garbage and doubly embarrassed to have served this to our guests. A $3 Jack’s pizza from Wal-Mart would have been better. Would not recommend this place for take out.
Update in reply to the owner’s comment:
Thank you for confirming that the unprofessionalism extends beyond the kitchen. A thoughtful restaurant might have acknowledged the feedback - especially when it involves food quality and guest experience. Instead, you chose sarcasm and deflection.
The timing of my review doesn’t change the fact that your pizza was overpriced, poorly prepared, and genuinely embarrassing to serve. Your reply says more about your attitude than I ever could. Cheers to missed opportunities - both in flavor and...
Read moreJust had dinner with my family here and it was a great experience! The atmosphere gives a real homey vibe. Everything about made you feel comfortable and at home with plenty of space. The staff was wonderful. Everyone that worked there was super polite, more than willing to help, and made the experience that much more enjoyable. We started off with the garlic bread and spinach and artichoke dip. The garlic bread was great. Loved the bread and seasoning used. The dip was by far the best spinach and artichoke dip I've had. We then ordered the meat pizza and the margarita pizza. The crust on the pizzas was perfect. Not too thick, not too thin. The perfect amount of crispness. The red sauce on the meat pizza was great, and with the great selection of meats they used makes this pizza stand out. For those that dont like all the meat, the margarita pizza is the way to go. Still the great crust, with Olive oil, sliced Roma tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and topped with fresh basil and a balsamic reduction makes this pizza taste unbelievably fresh. All in all it was such a great experience. For a business that's only been opened for a few weeks, the staff, the food, and the ownership have really made a great place to dine out...
