I truly don’t even know where to start because I’ve never experienced customer service this unbelievably awful at any restaurant I’ve ever visited — especially not one I’ve supported so frequently.
Tonight, we placed our usual order from Spice Wings, something we get regularly: Garlic Parmesan and Buffalo mixed wings. When we got home, we found they gave us half Garlic Parmesan and half Buffalo — not mixed like we always order. Mistakes happen, and normally a business would simply fix it. Unfortunately, what followed was one of the most disappointing, frustrating, and honestly shocking interactions I’ve ever had with a restaurant.
When we called, the manager immediately told us we were wrong. No listening, no understanding, no apology — just instant defensiveness and an attitude that made it very clear she had no interest in helping. She was consistently rude, cutting me off repeatedly while I was trying to explain the issue, to the point where I had to ask if she could please stop speaking so I could finish a sentence. I cannot remember the last time I was treated so poorly by someone in a customer-facing role.
After debating back and forth, she finally agreed to “fix” it, but informed me she wouldn’t be remaking the wings — just adding extra flavor to the cold food we now had sitting at home. I tried to explain that our entire order was cold by this point, including the fries, and asked if those could be remade too. She begrudgingly agreed to remake the fries but still refused to remake the wings fresh.
What truly blew my mind was when she claimed to have watched a recording of our order being placed, while we were still on the phone arguing. There was no pause, no hold, no time for her to actually review anything — she just claimed we had ordered wrong, which was a blatant lie to avoid fixing the issue.
To make matters worse, when I asked for her name so I could file a proper complaint, she refused to give it to me. What kind of “manager” refuses to give their name in a situation like this? The level of unprofessionalism was beyond anything I’ve experienced in a restaurant setting.
In the end, I went back and got a full refund because the situation was handled so horribly. It’s honestly embarrassing for any business to treat loyal, paying customers this way. I’m still in disbelief that this was how we were spoken to and treated over something so simple to fix.
We will absolutely never return to this location again. It’s a shame, because we used to really enjoy coming here — but after tonight, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. If you value decent service and basic respect,...
Read moreI’ve supported this spice wing location since they opened in the area. I’ve regularly picked this up on the way home and have ordered delivery on occasion.
The bone in chicken wings have gone steadily down hill since they opened, but I was willing to overlook that for their tenders and their amazing wedge potato fries. I ordered through their website for delivery tonight and the food never showed. I got a text from the delivery driver that spice wing chose (you don’t choose who delivers their food - it’s chosen for you through their website) that the food was delivered, but we had no food. I called the number as directed by the text message if food didn’t arrive and the individual said they delivered it to the correct address and were extremely argumentative.
I got out of them that they delivered to the wrong address with the wrong doormat and the wrong location within our apartment. They refused to do anything and said I had to reach out to door dash (my first time learning that door dash was delivering my food). I reached out to door dash and they said they refunded the money to spice wing, but that I needed to reach out to spice wing. I reached out to spice wing and they refused to do anything. I then got a lecture on how their financial situation doesn’t support doing refunds and how they are billed weekly by door dash and can’t do anything.
Don’t support this business. At the end of the day, they are responsible for who they choose to use as a delivery service and they refuse to take responsibility for the business THEY chose to partner with.
We ultimately had to pay for spice wing that we didn’t get and order dinner from Dominos. Dominos showed up without issue and within the timeframe given. Don’t order from Spice Wing unless you are okay with not receiving your food and not receiving any customer service. There are plenty of other food places in the area that care more about staying...
Read moreAs my first impression, this place is a great little spot. I walked in, and it wasn't that busy (around noon), so i was skeptical. However, i knew walking in that the place was at a current 4.9 rating. I was helped rather quickly, and the ordering process was simple and friendly. My presence was acknowledged prior to being helped as the cashier was helping the kitchen walk out food. I took my food to go, so i had some time to admire the place. Personally, a little bit more life is needed some low played music, a tv, something would be nice (maybe i missed it but it seemed rather quiet). It took a few minutes, but i got my food in a respectable time frame. Everything i ordered was correct, the food was prepared perfectly. The fries were seasoned appropriately and the chicken wings were baked and sauced perfectly. Everything tasted great, i had leftover wings from my 10 pc. Combo so the portion size is definitely there. Overall a great first experience with minor fixes that i feel would just enhance the experience. Truthfully id give them a 4.8/5 if i could. Its hard for any business to get a 5 in my eyes. Google should really implement a half system or something. Anyways, great food and service. Will definitely stop by again if given the opportunity.
Edit. I will also note that the fries did almost have a mozzarella stick taste to them. I'd assume this is due to the oil used to fry. Maybe something to consider since that may not be everyones cup of tea. It wasn't a big deal for me, but to some it might be.
Update a week after this review---
They must have read my review. The fries tasted just like fries and seemed really fresh. Everything was as good as it was the first time. Still a strong 4.8 in my book! Would recommend to friends and...
