So my gf and I had a rather enjoyable experience here, just this past evening. To start, it's a rather nice place. Not brand new, mind you, but with the old building/decor appeal that often accompanies good restaurants. So we had a nice, private, corner of the room table, in a place that was sorta busy bit not overly so for a weeknight. The food was tip top. I got a gyro, which featured some fantastic tzatziki ( probly incorrect spelling) sauce as well as a plethora of good, crisp, fresh veggies. Just an excellent eating experience, akin to that which one might expect from the gyro stand at the local county fair, around here. We got two dozen wings, which were also on point. We got medium, to no dissatisfaction. Nice and hot without overpowering the overall flavor of the intended dish. We also got a "Greek app for two", which featured some amazing pork and shrimp. Some so-so chicken, in our opinion, and some very nice feta cheese and olives. There is a dull bar downstairs at this establishment, however, drinks were not mentioned on the menu and we didn't inquire as to such. Cost was not absurd either. With 22 dollars in wings, our bill was just a shade over 60 bucks, which to me seems very fair for an enjoyable evening out with my lady, including dinner. So, as a wrap up, while this is not my favorite local joint to eat at, it's absolutely worth checking out. Affordable and with good quality food makes me wanna give The Courthouse, an 8 out of 10. In my, semi professional dinning out experience, I'd say it's well worth taking the time to check out this eatery on main Street in Brookville Pennsylvania should you find yourself in the...
Read moreI used to enjoy dining at The Courthouse Grill and Pub, but unfortunately, it seems like standards have slipped. What was once a reliable spot for good food now feels like it's cutting corners—both in the kitchen and in overall experience. For a place branded as a Grill and Pub, the menu feels overextended. There are too many varied options that don’t align with the identity of the restaurant, and surprisingly, no proper steak offerings—something you’d expect from any grill. Instead, I was served an overcooked skirt steak laid over what tasted like canned Alfredo sauce over pasta. At these prices, I expect fresh ingredients and execution that reflects some care. The pricing suggests a higher-end city dining experience, but the interior and atmosphere don’t match. There’s no cohesion in design, and it misses an opportunity to highlight the character or history of the building, which could have added charm. Service was also underwhelming. Despite the restaurant being far from full on a weekend night, our salad arrived a full 15 minutes after ordering, followed immediately by the main course—hardly the pacing you'd expect when the kitchen isn’t slammed. If the menu were simplified, with fewer, fresher items that focused on quality over quantity, the experience could live up to both the price and the potential. As it stands, it’s a disappointing visit to a place that used to offer...
Read moreI recently had the chance to visit the Courthouse Pub located in Brookville, PA, and I'd like to share my experience with you. While I was there, I decided to try the New York stromboli. Although it was pretty good overall, it didn't quite become a new favorite of mine. I have a feeling that people who are actually from New York might share my opinion on this. To be honest, I’m not entirely sure what constitutes a 'New York style' stromboli, but the one at Courthouse Pub didn't quite hit the mark for me in terms of flavor and texture.
On the other hand, my dining companion opted for the chicken salad, and it turned out to be quite impressive. The quality and taste were spot-on and completely enjoyable.
What truly stood out to me was the atmosphere of the pub itself. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, and the charm of the small town added to the overall experience. Moreover, the service we received was top-notch. The staff was attentive and friendly, making our visit even more pleasant.
Based on all of this, I would certainly recommend stopping by the Courthouse Pub if you ever find yourself in Brookville, PA. It’s worth a visit for the good food, great service, and charming setting. Had it not been for the stromboli, a five-star rating would have been awarded, but overall, it was a very...
