Came here because I was in the area visiting a friend. I didn't know what to expect, but the idea of a hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint seemed perfect. My hopes were soon dashed. The lady behind the counter was nice enough and when I asked if the food was good there her response indicated she seemed to believe longevity equaled quality. She was very proud of the fact that the restaurant has been there since 1989. I didn't want to argue with her logical fallacy, so kept it to myself. One thing the lady behind the counter did that annoyed me to no end was she ignored my female companion and spoke almost exclusively to me. I ordered a delux burrito plate and she asked me if I wanted it hot, medium or mild. My friend ordered a handful of tacos of various styles as well as a serving of chips and salsa. The food took far longer to make than I would have expected - especially considering we were there at an off hour with no one else waiting. When the food arrived it was neatly packed to go, just as we ordered. We drove back to my friend's place and ate: The food was ... meh. I mean, it wasn't anything to write home about and I don't know if I'd ever stop by again if I were in the area. Especially annoying to me was the smothered green chili on my burrito. I wish, at any point, "smothered" was listed under the description. My friend said the salsa tasted like ketchup with spices. I took a single bite of it and will never stick that in my mouth again if the Universe is kind to me. All-in-all, the experience was bleh.

Burritos are good, green chili was tasty and not too spicy. Thought the burritos would be bigger, though.

Worst mexican food besides the closed casa Bonita. Yup pre made .worst green chili as well. Sorry to read the review from the deaf person. Really you got frustrated because you could not interact .my wife is deaf as well and no one would ever treat her that way!in response to any good ratings that have been written means that these people do not know genuine Mexican food. Best burritos are burritos to go. I now figured it out.fake reviews. They falsify reviews .why go there ? Why ! The place is a dump do not go there. Taco bell so much better.really Sarah you have never had real good Mexican food.i guarentee it. Eat what ya want. Get some real burritos or fajitas or tacos.guess you have cheap taste. Get some real stuff!!! Me on crack? Not nice! I will let it slide.sarah burritos to go is awesome. Not sure what your smoking. No comparison. You don't know Mexican food.and Sarah you support discrimination. A deaf person tries to communicate there order to be blown off. Your comments are stupid.you must work a mundane job.your a lost soul!yeah fake reviews. Can you do better? I don't want customers to get ripped off....

First time there and was a bit leery after ready the 1st review, BUT I’m so glad I gave Chico’s a try. “MUY BUENO” for all you Gringo’s like me that means= “VERY GOOD” lol. I’m a gringo born in raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico and raised on Green Chile! Like I said the food was very good and the owner and his mom where SUPER NICE!!! The green chile was yummy and hot was hot just like I like it. Then Chico brought out some of his chile before the final stages of what they use to smother everything with and MAN THAT WAS EVEN BETTER! So after having my smothered green chile burrito I just had to try a tamale just cheese on top and Chico gave me some more of the chile before its final stage (he normally does sell this) and I poured it on the tamale FREAKING GOOD MAN or MUCHO MUY BUENO! Give it a try you will like, it’s a no frills little restaurant like my Dad would always stop at in New Mexico, does look like much but wait until you take a bite! Oh, not sure what the guy before was talking about because service was Excellent! Chico and his mom are very nice and personable! PS: the prices are GREAT!!! Can’t go...
