The manager Jim needs basic customer service training. I have been taking my mom for brunch here weekly. I actually love the service and the food is good. This last week I took my mom and daughter for lunch, as I was paying I took my planner out of my bag and sat it down on the counter and I forgot to put it back in my purse. I don’t live far and realized I may have left it so I called them at 1:06 pm, the gal who answered said she had it and she actually noticed it on the counter as I was leaving. I asked if I could come back for it and was told no because they were closed. The next day I called again around the same time and said I had been in back to back meetings but asked if I could possibly come by and was told again that they were technically closed but that I could come by the next day. This team member also confirmed they had it. Then the next day, my husband goes to get it and they tell him they don’t have it.. he tells the woman that someone confirmed having it… and she says oh yes that was me, we had it but it’s gone now. I call and am told the same thing.. we had it but it is gone. I ask for the manager JIM.. who should not be a manager. Jim told me in a snide and jerky way that it’s my responsibility for keeping track of my stuff. Which is a lesson I learned as a child and didn’t need to be schooled on. I told Jim that occasionally humans may accidentally, mistakenly leave something behind and as an establishment they should have a designated spot which is commonly known as a lost and found. While I was talking to Jim getting a lecture on responsibility another team member found my planner which was put in a different drawer then where they had originally been looking in. Anyway, a manager is supposed to be a problem solver and be customer centric.....
Read moreI don't know if this location is the problem or the entire chain is going downhill. I met a friend at the 144th Street location and we were seated, but told they close at 2pm, so we had to get our order in fast. When the food arrived it was cold and pasty. The gravy for the chicken fried steak was flavorless, pasty and cold. The toast was cold. The only thing warm was the two fried eggs on top of my cold food. Then, after we had finished eating, I presume the manager came out and said we had to leave. My friend and I hadn't seen or spoken in several months and we wanted to talk and catch up over coffee. I was not impressed that we were told we had to leave. We were only there a total of about 45 minutes and I was hoping to enjoy a 2 hour lunch with my friend. In hindsight, we should have just gone somewhere else, but when the food came out so horrible, I had to write a review. I don't know if all Le Peep's are this bad, but I certainly would not recommend the...
Read moreI haven't dined at a La Peep restaurant in ages, accidentally found this one because everywhere else had a long wait time for a Sunday morning. We arrived and were quickly seated. Amanda H was our waitress. She brought us a decanter of water and menus. I was very pleasantly surprised to see so many wonderful options on the breakfast menu. My wife ordered the Rock Lobster scramble and I couldn't decide between the biscuits and gravy or the huevos rancheros. I decided to try the biscuits. Wow, they were delicious. Chunks of breakfast sausage in a thick white gravy. The lobster scramble was literally 🔥 😋. Amanda was very courteous and full of joy. Thank you for such a...
