On the suggestion of a few friends we decided to do lunch at Coalfields. Menu is quite large for a small venue. One member of our party ordered baked haddock. It arrived with some type of breading not whats expected for baked fish. She was struggling with her fork to break it she then used her knife and it clanged on the plate. At this point we got our waitress attention. She offered our friend to pick anything off the menu free of charge. She did not remove the unwanted meal even after walking past the table several times. I tried it since we was just sitting there it was hard and dry. The waitress then said the manager is charging you for the meal now. The waitress made no stipulations on getting a replacement and left the horrible cuisine on the table. Look at this as you wish but this business just lost the three of us who will never go back and the friends who suggested the restaurant. The manager gave the impression he could care less that he turned a nice gesture into losing several customers. I as well work as a GM for a local hotel. I would never send a guest into this lions den. The response wasn't the issue it was left at the table and tried by a second person a meal was already offered free then made us pay for it. We didn't ask for a comp or a free replacement that was a gesture of good will on your part. You destroyed that on your own. You gained a meal and lost many future...
Read moreNew management. Fresh & clean dinning area. Simple clean decor. See pics of menu & food ordered. Prices are very reasonable. I have visited a few times & recommend a stop by eat for a try. All the dishes that came to my table was very good! TO THE OWNER: job well done on decor, cleanliness of dinning area. Suggestion: have 1 designed person on that register / greet / all around hand in dinning area at all times. I have experienced on the few times I have stopped, no1 (wait staff) around at check out / wait staff is OK but takes more time than necessary to return. I've also experiance wait time for/at check out (stopped by to pick up a desert). There will always be a kink to work out, but over all ur on...
Read moreI contemplated on making this post because I hate leaving bad reviews for small town businesses. Let’s start with the walk in, very dim lighting & not too busy for a Saturday morning (yes! This food will be hot since they aren’t in a huge hurry to prepare it and it won’t sit since the staff doesn’t have very many tables to tend to)! So many choices on the menu that I can’t imagine that it’s all fresh! Get my food and what they call “home fries” were just boiled potatoes that were sliced down and not fried (I get restaurants boil them ahead of time so they are cooked, but they also fry them so they are crispy & hot) The bacon was all but raw & the burrito was soggy & cold in the center. The waitress was cheerful...
