My good friend has been telling me for months how amazing this place is. We get together once a month and get take out to go over business items. It was his turn to choose and he chose Jolene’s. What an unbelievable disappointment. We ordered 3 meals and 2 appetizers. I’ll start with the good: the egg rolls were decent, but nothing special. That’s the end of anything good to say about it. As of writing this review, 80% of the “food” we purchased is sitting in the dumpster. The wraps we ordered (3) didn’t have any meat in 2 of them and thenither had a couple small pieces of shrimp. They failed to include the peanut sauce so they had zero flavor and nobody wanted them. Into the trash they went. The order of 6 crab rangoons was soggy and we inky got 3. I ate one nobody else was interested so the other 2: in the trash. The fried udon noodles with beef had maybe 4 small chunks of beef. The flavor was really good but I lost interest pretty quick since the dish was pretty much all onions and noodle. I ate about 1/3 and the rest went into the trash. Last was the sweet and sour chicken. The sweet and sour sauce was more like water with a little sugar in it, the rice was just white rice with a little soy sauce and like the chicken was almost as soggy as the rangoons. Yup. Into the tradh with the rest. Now, I never leave a bad review without giving a business the opportunity to correct their mistakes. I had our assistant call in to report the issues and i can now comment in their customer service in this review as well. It was even worse than the food. They responded that “the food was made last night and it wa thaio apologies, no offer to replace it with something edible, no offer to refund or partially refund. We did, however, learn that Jolene is no longer an active owner, and the new owners are managing the cooking now. I don’t need a crystal ball to see into the future. I see myself driving by a building and saying “that building used to be a really good thai food restaurant, but they got new owners and it shut down because the food and service became awful. I don’t have any first hand knowledge of the cleanliness of the place, but since their attention to detail regarding food quality, order accuracy, and customer service are all abysmal, it would be very had to believe that their attention to detail regarding cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety would happen to be the single thing they’re good at. Steer clear of this place guys. And don’t forget to tell your friends. I’d hate to see anyone else have to pay $50 to find out that Jolene’s is the worst restaurant...
Read moreWife and I avoided this place after the first visit over 5yrs ago because the food wasn’t “Thai”. Whenever we craved Thai food we always went out of town until we recently found out about the new owner. We decided to try it again with an open mind and glad we did. The two dishes we wanted (Panang Curry and Massaman Curry) were not on the menu but the owner told us she could make them if we called ahead. She was surprised that we even knew about those dishes and asked if I was Thai. In the meantime she recommended we order the Red curry, which we did, with chicken and pork. The dishes were Delicious, packed with flavor and just the right amount of heat. Additionally, we ordered egg rolls and calamari which were both very good and tasted really fresh. One telltale sign of a good Thai restaurant is how well they make their Pad Thai, which the owner recommended I try on our next visit. I was so impressed with the curry dishes I ordered Pad Thai with shrimp to go, which I had to try before leaving the restaurant. Definite must order for anyone who loves noodles. Needless to say we don’t have to travel out of town anymore for...
Read moreI resently moved to Bangs, Tx and thought the only cuisine I would have would be bbq and home style cooking. I and my boyfriend, who has never had Thai food, ate at Jolene's. It was small and a little hot in the dining area but it was very clean. The waitress/hostess that greeted us was very nice and recommended dishes for my boyfriend. The Thai tea is good. We started with the egg rolls and they were very good and very fresh. We both had noodle dishes and they were excellent; however, if you don't want your dish to be spicy hot, let the waitress know you want extra mild. I loved it but it was a little spicy for my boyfriend. The portions were large. We have enough for another meal for the both of us. Highly recommend this restaurant. I will definitely back and also have them deliver. As good as any Thai you can get in the big city. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is they did not have Tom kha soup and if you want spring rolls you have to call and order them in advance. Other than that all I...
