Mel's treats & Eats LLC — Restaurant in Brownwood

I am compelled to share my disappointing experience with the owner of this business. Following a recent visit, I sent her a video documenting my dissatisfaction with the price-to-food ratio. In response, she made the unsubstantiated claim I manipulated the food to damage her business reputation. My husband had picked up the food from her establishment and brought it home. My intention in bringing this to her attention was not to seek reimbursement, but rather to provide constructive feedback that would enable her to improve for future customers. Unfortunately, the owner reacted in an unprofessional and rude manner, failing to acknowledge my concerns and instead making false accusations against my husband claiming the food showed on video was not the amount that was given which is false, nor him or I manipulated the food by any means. It’s sad to say we have consistently supported her small business by enjoying her treats countless times, my husband loved her strawberry cheesecake cup, he even tipped the business Saturday night. Her behavior as a business owner has been nothing but disgusting and unacceptable, rather than taking accountability and offering a sincere apology, she suggested I was “jealous of her success.” This behavior is inconsistent with the values she claims to uphold as a self-described godly driven Christian. FINALLY got to try Mels Treats tonight! We picked up our taco box raffle prize and grabbed an order of asada fries and two elotes. Everything was super tasty. The hot sauce was spicy and so flavorful. We couldnt stop eating it. My ultimate favorite has to be the elotes. I could BATHE in that corn- It was delicious. Currently in a food coma, but contemplating an extra workout routine to compensate for all the corn cups I’m going to be consuming. No regrets. Please go check them out when you get the chance. We’ve ordered from Mel at her former location on Belle Plain and her new location on Austin and have yet to have a bad experience. I love the fun outdoor atmosphere she provides, my kids and I always enjoy hanging out while we wait for our fresh made food. I never know what I want to order when I go, (sweet, savory, sour, spicy- she has it all!) but I always know whatever we order will be a hit with the family.
