It took a lot for me to do this but after telling a few people about one of the most horrible experiences I have had walking into a restaurant.....
Sunday around 3pm My family and I ( Whom are white) decided we were going to eat at this restaurant. My family informed me they are at this restaurant before and enjoyed it. The parking lot was a little packed and when we walked in it looked like there were about 5 tables and one only had 3 chairs. So we waited for a few moments for someone to speak to us. I was with my aunt and uncle whom are older white Americans and my cousin and her husband are a younger couple. So the waitress asks my aunt how many and she says 5 people. The waitress looks at us and then says well it's going to be a 45 min wait! " we don't have seating for a party of 5! My aunt was a little puzzled by the wait because she seen the empty tables. She then ask if we could move a chair from the table that had 3 hairs to make a 5th seat. They said no. Not because of any regulation! But because "they didn't have enough chairs" ??
I wasn't upset at this point. BUT WHEN WE WALKED OUTSIDE to wait or talk, 2 people that worked in the restaurant came outside to tell us other places that we "Should" eat at....
WHAT RESTAURANT RECOMMENDS ANOTHER RESTAURANT.... like oh u should try them they are great as well. No we will be with you as soon as possible....
#1 I am black..... in a All white restaurant and when I walked in all eyes were on me 🤔
#2 You walk my family outside to talk to them..... and tell us to pretty my go somewhere else...
#3 Horrible customer service and I am sure none of my friends would ever go there anyways
#4 place looked and smelled like trash #5 if that wasn't racist, Idk what is.
So many emotions went through my head in that moment I didn't know what to do... to get smart with the people or to cry. But I didn't want my family to feel uncomfortable 😣 so I bottled my emotions so I could enjoy the little time I had left with my family....
On a good note they did refer us too and awesome barbecue restaurant that I knew I was going to enjoy 1 million...

Waitress and hostess/cashier had the worst attitudes I have ever seen in a restaurant!! FYI if you don't like your jobs find a new one, don't take it out on your customers who are keeping your workplace OPEN!!!
Mother's Day evening!
We had a party of 5. The hostess/cashier said it's gonna be a while before I can seat y'all. My mom looked puzzled and said I don't understand why we can't be seated (because there were many 4 chair tables and an 8 chair table unoccupied) She walked over and told my mother well I can seat you but it's gonna be a while before you get service! (Well duh, it's a holiday every restaurant in the county was probably slammed, can't help it they were understaffed)
25 mins later we get our drink 45 mins later we get our food, my moms Order is wrong twice before they get it right. My mom is not happy and she lets it be known to the waitress, the waitress gets an attitude with my mom, by this time my dad is ticked off and has to go back to work so he tells the waitress with a bit of an attitude that he needs a to go box. She turns around and asked with the nastiest attitude SO YALL ALL WANT A TO GO BOX! My dad gets up walking to the door to leave and states that the service sucks that's when the bus boy says no you suck!! Next thing I know the entire kitchen staff my dad and 15 year old brother are out in the parking lot arguing..
After that is broken up by my mom, she comes back in packs up our uneaten food in to go boxs pays for our dinner gets to the car and realizes she has been overcharged 47.00😡
So she has to go back in and help them do their job and get our order charged correctly
Wish I would have read the reviews on here before going because there seems to be a recurring theme at...
Read moreIt took me a while to calm down and write this. My 96 year old mother and I have been lunching at Jinright's for many years. Fair food, fair price. She makes her doctor's appointments early afternoon so we can get fried shrimp on the way. Last week we were seated as usual and ordered our usual, fried shrimp, green beans and sweet potatoes. Mom ordered first and I then said, "I'll have the same".
The waitress brought me a baked Idaho potato, and Mom a sweet potato. I said, "I ordered a sweet potato". She switched the plates, and Mom said, "I also ordered a sweet potato." She pulled out her pad and looked at me and said, "You ordered a baked potato." Well, you can imagine how this conversation went. She finally snatched my plate from the table and again said as she was turning her back, "YOU ordered a baked potato!"
She returned with my plate and on it was the smallest sweet potato I have ever seen in my life, and I am 63 years old, and have seen hundreds of sweet potatos!
Well, we never received any further attention. No water or tea refills, not even a bill. At Jinright's, the servers bring the bills to the customers who then take them to the counter to pay. When it was apparent we were going to be totally ignored, I went to the counter and the cashier already had our bill that the server had given her rather than bringing it to us.
I said something to the cashier (no general manager on the premises) and she said, "I'm sure she didn't mean anything by it". Not anywhere near acceptable.
Have been going to Jinright's for 25 years and will never go again. Customers do...
