My boyfriend and I were visiting Cherokee, NC for my birthday. We love Mexican and decided to come here. The servers (2 of them) did not speak English very well and I told my bf that could only mean one thing lol...the food has got to be GOOD lol!!...about 5 min after we sat down our server took our drink orders and about 8 min in we had our food order put in. The waitress who took my drink order didn't quite understand I wanted Chardonnay. We were both patient with the waitress and server because we understood the language barrier. As we were waiting, the manager steps out from the kitchen. He looks toward our table and says hello. I immediately ask him if they carried Chardonnay (any brand at this point). He happily said yes and spoke to the bartender who prepared my glass of wine. Finally, the food arrives. I ordered the Chipotle Shrimp [12 sauteed shrimp with hot Chipotle sauce, served with rice, lettuce, avocado and cucumbers] when i tell you i dont think I've EVER had a better chipotle shrimp believe me!!! it was soooo FRESH, soo hot/spicy to taste just like i wanted it,; the fresh avocado went perfectly with the shrimp and the rice..it was as if i got to taste a little piece of heaven at that moment...i want to say to all of the servers, waiters, bartenders and Manager of this restaurant: shout out to you all and THANK YOU for running an awesome establishment in the wake of this pandemic...you came thru for us and the food was really delicious!!! We appreciate you and we...
Read moreMy wife and I passed this place a few times in our travels around the area, and it seemed to attract quite a few customers. So we swung by to see what it was like. The quantity of customers ended up biting us in the rear because there were no seats available. There wasn't anyone at the door to help us, and the wait staff were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Fortunately, the bar tender saw us and invited us over to sit while he tried to get us a table. 20 minutes later, we were seated. The atmosphere isn't anything special, but it is cozy. The bar tender ended up serving our food as well, which was nice because he was pleasant. The chips were decent, and salsa was pretty good. My wife really enjoyed her enchiladas. I had a burrito and chimichanga. I have to say that the beef burrito had very nicely flavored beef, and there was a lot of it. Normally, a beef burrito isn't all that special. I've also gotta give credit to the refried beans. They had great flavor, and I had trouble stopping myself from eating once I was full. Overall, I can see why this place is popular. I hope to...
Read moreMy family and I decided to eat here for lunch. Unfortunately it wasn't too pleasant. The queso dip was just melted cheese instead of having chilis like most restaurants in town. I had chicken nachos which lacked seasoning. My wife had nacho supreme which she could barely finish. Her mom had shrimp fajitas but only the shrimp was the star of the show. Or at least was an understudy. Moving on to the wait staff. Before we got our food I swear our waiter transformed into 3 different people. I mean 2022 I guess. And they barely even said a word. I understand possible language barriers but there was minimal effort in communication other than taking our order and getting the check. I also understand understaffed business and rush hour. I too have worked in a restaurant. But this seemed a little chaotic. Unfortunately we did not even make it home before we were all sick. It seems a few changes need to be made. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this to my...
