Finally made it to the Vic restaurant in Verrado. It overlooks Verrado and the entire Arizona valley. What a view. The menu was simple and the food was amazing. The staff and management were super duper friendly and helpful. Just a chill place to hang out. Highly recommended if you can make it to our neck of the woods! đŸ€™đŸ»

4/29/2018: Last summer there were some staff changes. I don't care for their new menu items. I'm sad they took my regular favorites off the menu. I've been in 6 times since the kitchen staff has changed. It's not like it used to be. I used to bring family and friends who were visiting up here. Too pricey for the items being served. For awhile there was nothing but spicy. Ambiance is nice, but not enough to keep me coming back when I'm hungry. Staff is nice and Carly always stops by to say hello to me. This was my favorite local spot for 7 months. I was a regular (at least 2-4 times a month). Updated version of my 12/2016 review:

I've been here twice and plan many future trips. I love the atmosphere. Refined feel, but reasonably priced. (Price is close to what it was, but for smaller portion). Food is exceptional quality and offers a very unique menu. (Still unique menu, but not much I like on the menu) Everything is made fresh. The chef even has a special garden for his veggies. (This chef left - miss his menus)

Only been in for lunch so far and only ate light, but food was great quality and filling. (Was a regular, too many changes all at once - quality, service are still good, but I haven't enjoyed the menu as much over the past year. I love trying new things, but the menus here are not what they used to be).

Great choices in beer selection, though not as many dark beers as we like. And their specialty drinks are great.

The staff... all I can say is the staff are as exceptional as the food. Jerry and Ricky were great servers. Jerry remembered us from the week prior including recalling drinks we were interested in. Made our visit a real treat. (Sadly haven't seen these servers since)

Views... of the Valley on two sides with open patio seating overlooking the golf course and view below. To the sides are granite mountains including Tiger Mountain. Behind the exclusive facade of the clubhouse is a fabulous pool area, tennis courts, pickleball and an Art Center - sorry, for residents only beyond the restaurant. Offers a pretty view when dining indoors to the public though. I understand they have live music occasionally and it has a great venue for...

The good the bad and the ugly.

We visited this restaurant on March 22 with local friends who recommended it for its extraordinary views. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations.

After being seated, we waited over 20 minutes without any acknowledgment from staff. My husband eventually had to walk to the host stand to ask if we even had a server. It took another 10 minutes before someone finally arrived to take our order. We ordered drinks, appetizers, and entrées, but it took 30 to 45 minutes for everything to arrive.

When the food finally came, my husband’s burger—ordered medium—was completely overcooked, tough, and nearly inedible. The bun was burnt, and the patty was so dry and well-done that it was difficult to bite into. They offered to remake it which they did, but unfortunately, it took almost another 20 to 30 minutes for the burger to come out and by that time everybody had already finished their dinner.

Our friends ordered the fish of the day, which was also overcooked and disappointing. A couple of the other dishes were decent, but overall, the food was overpriced and underwhelming.

Another issue arose with the drink order. Our friends ordered whiskey, but two of the options they requested were unavailable. While this wasn’t a big deal at first, the problem came when we got the bill and noticed we were charged for the two unavailable whiskeys anyway. Unfortunately, we caught this after we’d already paid. Since I had split my payment between cash and card, I asked for the overcharge to be refunded in cash, but they said it wasn’t possible. Instead, they had to void the entire transaction, meaning I’d have to wait 5 to 7 business days for the refund to process and then recharge my card.

Overall, while the views and atmosphere are stunning, the food quality, service, and overall experience left much to be desired. Our local friends mentioned that things had gone downhill recently, with new staff and a manager who no longer checks in on guests like before.

For us, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences we’ve had in a long time. I’d give it a solid 3/10 and, sadly, wouldn’t...

I'm going try to make this quick and too the point. 3 of the 9 of us ladies ordered well done burgers. 2 of the burgers were as black and hard as charcoal on the bottom, hard as rocks!! I always order my burgers well done so I know that it's possible to grill a well done burger properly, additionally, I'm a caterer and a excellent cook. When the waitress saw them she even commented saying, "they really burnt those suckers, didn't they"? She sent the manager to our table. What I'm accustomed to is this. #1the manager introducing themselves. #2 the manager doing an inquiry of the situation. #3 the manager listening to your feedback. #4 and ,finally the manager asking what they can do to correct the problem. Well NONE of that happened! She basically came over and began to clear our plates, assuming the role of a waitress, instead of a manager. When she tried to take my plate I stopped her by holding my plate down with my knife which forced her to listen to me as I professionally articulated my dissatisfaction. There was NO apology nor was there any offer to rectify the situation. Needless to say the last night of our girls trip to the beautiful state of Arizona was ruined! Might I add that we were the minority in the establishment. My suggestion to the Vic is that you incorporate a diversity and inclusion component in your training. It is most needed! Oh! by the way, when ordering a burger do not ask for it to be cut in half...there's a $1.50 charge for that. Who ever heard of such? It would have been nice if the waitress would've mentioned that when the request was made. I'm...
