Three stars because my twin lobsters were absolutely fabulous! Only three because my wife ordered fried shrimp and she got Sysco frozen pre breaded fried shrimp. What an INCREDIBLE disappointment! They could not have been worse. Please warn people when you serve frozen, pre prepared âseafoodâ.
Edited Review: After receiving a response from the establishment, which I appreciated, and I am not trying to be obstinate here, just honest, as a consumer, I have been a restaurant owner and in the business for 43 years and know fresh from pre prepared frozen food. May it be Sysco, US Foodservice, PFG or your local supermarket, I am very sure these were frozen shrimp. You sell great, fresh lobster (which I had and enjoyed) and haddock (which I saw at the table next to us and it looked fresh and great), but knowing Maine does not have âshrimp boatsâ and folks donât come here for the shrimp, (my wife was just âlobstered outâ and chose the shrimp), I can understand why these would be served. I just believe you should let people know when they ask. (Which we did. Ask, that is.) We were at another establishment in Wiscasset and wanted crab cakes and asked if they were fresh, and the honest proprietor told us they were good quality, but, pre prepared and frozen. Again, Iâm not trying to be nasty. I wish your business well, especially in these tough times in our business and the lobsters I had were...
Read moreAbsolutely the worst food I have ever had,I can't believe these guys get a high rating. The rolls are horrendous. In April the lobster rolls were circa $27 for a large, I opted for a shrimp roll (same size I was told by the approx 12 year old that served me) for $10.99. I was about 12 small deep fried prawns on what looked like 1 piece of bread.
Don't go! Don't stop there, save yourself the anguish.
And to request tips before I even receive a meal! Once on the payment keypad, another a tip bucket on the desk. Minimum wage is what....$16 per hour now and we still feel as though we need to tip for fast...
Read moreSo we stopped here today, at one of two take-outs right next to each other on R-46. It is a seafood place... with a heavy on the seafood menu. Not a big fan of stuff that swims but I think the measure of any restaurant is how good they do food other than their specialty. Carrier's had a lot of good things, the (Non-Sea) Food we had was quite delicious and served relatively quickly. Even tho it was a nice spring day and the place was Swimming with customers. We never went inside (didn't know there was inside seating until we were gone), but I loved some of decor and decorations outside. The Wall of Buoys was pretty cool. I was curious about "Muriel" which was below the statue of a Lobster out front and was told by one of the owners that it was namesake of a Family Member. Nice Touch. All in all, great service, great food, great atmosphere. Only ding(y) was, we were in line and my friend nearly jumped out of her shoes when they read the serving number over the loudspeaker. No biggie. Just ":Fair Warning" if loud noises make you nervous. We will be back to try the other landlubber foods, just no "Bug and Corn"...
