South Austin Beer Garden — Restaurant in Buda

We REALLY really wanted to like this place. We just took the whole family to celebrate Father's Day with a beer & BBQ. No one was in the outdoor area, so we grabbed a round and let the kids run free. Wonderful! Except then a bartender informed us there's lots of broken glass, so don't let the kids crawl on the ground. Done! We informed our children.. 5, 7 & 9 years old. They complied! Even better! Well then my husband moved the Connect game board. 😱 Same bartender starts making passive-aggressive comments about how we shouldn't be re-arranging his bar. And then kept going.

All in all, know that no kids are welcome here. Despite the outdoor, fun atmosphere with seesaws. Even if there are no other customers, SABG would prefer no customers over your children...

This place has a specific type of clientele, anyone can spot it the second you step into the bar. If you've made a mistake of not looking the right way you can see the stares towards you. The bartenders are soo dry and rude, they serve their buddies first then they serve the " Stranger who is visiting our bar " if that's the case make it private property with limited access. The beer costs 7$ which is a joke in South ATX, they add no liquor to their watered-down cocktails and you pay 10$ for it. Moontower Saloon just down the road and I never experienced vibe like that, spend your money there if you appreciate the beauty of South Austin's diversity. Visit those two places if you're looking for a bar in that area and you will notice...

Wanted to try this place out and came through with my buddy right out of the bat we walked up and the bouncers that checked the ID and whatnot kind of walked up to us like super unfriendly and we were like trying to figure out why they did it like that after they checked ID they became friendly which was weird though the whole interaction was not pleasant. Restrooms were decently clean. Just kind of a track to get to but not that bad. I didn't get to try all the food in the area I tried the pizza it was decent. Overall though my experience there wasn't great I feel like the bartenders weren't all friendly I get you don't have to be but at the same time it's also customer service. I may go again but...
