TX Gyro — Restaurant in Buda

I went to this place based on all the 5 star reviews it has but unfortunately I was truly disappointed. For a mediteranean place as it advertises itself, it shouldn’t use a heavy curry infused sauce in the shawarma ( in my humble opinion). The chicken was overcooked and then bathed in a lot of sauce with a lot of curry spice in it. The French fries were barely fried and they tasted like mashed potatoes more than fries. Honestly, I've tried several food trucks around with area with Mediterranean food, and this is by far the best place. The truck is in the parking lot of a gas station. There is another food truck in the same lot, and there is super great seating outdoors with lights and covering for when it gets hot.

I moved back to Austin at the beginning of Feb and stopped here on a whim. The chef suggested I try the gyro over rice. I could not have been happier with his suggestion. Not only was it delicious the portion was huge. I literally make two meals out of it. I literally crave this dish.
