We had not been here since the days when they had a Sunday dinner buffet, more than ten years ago. What a great place this is. Our bartender/server, Chris, was so refreshing from the disinterested staff we see at other places. She is a very hard worker!
We started with drinks -- my handsome dining partner had an old fashioned, and I had a salted caramel mudslide martini. I asked that Bailey's not be in it, and that was subbed with creamers, which suited me just fine. Both drinks were strong! Delicious, too.
He ordered fried shrimp, and I had a calzone, and when Chris told me "calzone for days", she wasn't kidding. I have never seen one this big. And it was good. I have seen pictures of their big homemade creampuff, and had thought seriously about ordering one for dessert, but after our dinner, I now doubt very highly I could've handled more than a bite or two of it. Next time for sure.
We sat at the bar and a really nice group of locals came to socialize there. I highly recommend this spot for the food and for the service we received. The building is older and I'm not sure how old, but it has a lot...
Read moreIf you're a meat eater and more into quantity than quality this is the place for you. The meat and poultry servings are enormous. Unfortunately they are also full of fat and gristle. For example on our most recent visit one in our party had chicken piccante with so much tough fatty material half of it had to be discarded, as should have been before it even touched the plate. Another had chicken parm and said it "had a little of that, but only in one spot." The homemade pastas are the reason i keep going back. The ravioli tastes like my italian grandmother's, which i haven't had since she passed away 20 years ago. Sadly they are not so generous with the pasta servings. I'm giving four stars for the pastas; would be five but $14.99 for FOUR little ravioli and a shot glass of soup is outrageous. (Tip: All you can eat buffet only $14.99 on tuesday nights, strongly suggest going then if you want pasta) TLDR: generous meat portions; stingy pasta portions; kitchen staff could trim the meats better; pasta is the best you'll...
Read moreHave been going to 5 points since the 80d they even catered my wedding and many rescue squad dinners that I attended. Go there about once a month. Tonight went there for my birthday the meat I hot was bad smelled bad and tasted sour. Told the waiter who BTW was wonderful. He took the food came back and said owner tasted it and it was good. It wasn't got billed for bad meat. I asked speak with the owner he came out while trying to speak he told us to be quiet and listen to him. He said we will pay for it we explained we won't that we would pay for everything but the steak. His answer was I offered you another piece of steak and you wouldn't take it. I don't want more steak after putting a rotten meat in my mouth. He then proceeded to rip Bill out of my boyfriends hand grabbed the bag we had leftovers in told us get the hell out and never come back and repeated this twice very loud to where everyone in restaurant was watching. I obviously won't be returning sad been going there for...
