I understand sometimes dining out can bring us all bad experiences. However, I personally have always had nothing but the best experiences when I visit the Pickwickian. I do need to point out a few things here. Firstly, another reviewer, Nina Prus made some very harsh comments. In particular, a "biracial" staff member and an "older Spanish"... Etc... Nina, did your server tell you they were biracial or is that just an assumption? Was the older Spanish person really Spanish or was that another assumption? The point I make is firstly, not everyone is perfect everyday and secondly, how do you even know a person's story? Staff at the Pickwickian work extremely hard every single day. I know because I've seen it numerous times when I visit. It's unfair to judge someone personally when you don't know them. On the point of possibly bad service... Sure, it happens. Sure humans have bad days(I dare anyone to tell me they never had a bad day in their professional life and made bad decisions or didn't perform at the highest level every single day). Maybe we as patrons should do our job better as patrons and make the staff members at establishments we're visiting feel like we're not judging so much. It's a 2 way street. Read moreWe had reservations at 5pm for 5 on a Saturday. We were greeted at sat right away. Our drinks and food orders were taken within minutes. However, 30 mins had surpassed and we seen the same exact appetizers we ordered pass us by (on 2 different occasions) and be placed on other party's tables that were seated 10 to 15 minutes after us. It was almost to the point were I was going to pay for our drinks and leave. Instead we patiently waited and our apps and entrées started to arrive simultaneously. We had no complaints of the French onion soup and the wings. My surf and turf special was huge and definitely needed a hearty appetite to finish. The crab cake had a lot of filler but I didn't expect more due to the price point. Fyi all the food was reasonably priced. Our children had no complaints of their food. The bark on the rib entree was a little too hard to the point it was hard to cut with a steak knife. It did have a good flavor but didn't appeared to be smoked. None of the appetizer dishes were taken away for the entire duration. We had to flag our waiter down for refills, I wasn't offered a refill on my drink and it was empty within 20 minutes of arriving. Read moreThe hostess was rude the minute we walked in. She tried to seat us in the back room when we had reservations to see the performance by Alex Brodzik. Then the other waitress decided that we had a table for 8 with only 6 people and proceeded to scrunch us all on a 4 top and gave our other table to a twosome, all the while being rude and ignorant. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Very poor indeed. Do not recommend this place due to poor customer service.
In response to your response, when we checked in, the hostess told us she was going to seat us in the pool table room, and I said that was unacceptable because we had a reservation and we wanted to see the performance. She was then very rude during the rest of the exchange. Also, we had 6 people at the table, not 4, so someone is not being completely honest with you about all that transpired. I was not having a bad day, and for you to insinuate that was rude and unprofessional. I don’t see how you call yourselves a successful business when you have no customer service skills whatsoever. Allowing your employees to treat customers with that much disrespect is pathetic and unacceptable....
