My boyfriend and I patronize this business maybe every other week since his house is a 5 min drive away. However, last night I go in alone. So, I go in to a table and sit and a young girl asks for my drink order. I tell her I'd like a water and a SMALL frozen margarita. So there's this lady with highlights who's someone always working there. She brings me a large margarita and no water. Then she walks by my table and I explain to her I wanted a small margarita because I'm drinking and driving home mind you im an occasional drinker. So then she says "Oh no thats the only size", but thats bull. Every time I've come there I've truly gotten a small margarita and I'm not dumb. After she says that to me its probably 15 to 20min goes by and she doesn't come back to my table nor the other girl to ask me what food I'd like to order. VERY DISRESPECTFUL AND RUDE. From there on out I had to get up go find someone else to tell them I'm ordering food to go, so I could leave. The next morning I call to speak to the manager and they were acting naively. So my boyfriend calls the restaurant and asks to speak to the manager as well. Guess what the lady hung the phone up in his face. WE or I will never ever ever come here anymore. You people want the money and customers yet you lack customer service across the board. Then you make me feel because I'm alone to basically say f%k you and don't take care of me as a customer. Don't worry I wont return, too I feel like because I'm african american I was treated this way. Its funny too since my boyfriend wasn't with me, mind you he's white. I know if we were together that night this would of never happened. Money is money and I shouldn't have to feel pushed to the side because I didn't look like 95% of the customer's there....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst and foremost, the customer service we received was very poor. This was our very first time at this restaurant, and we had high hopes of liking it, as we liked the location and ambience immediately. Our server (an older lady with shoulder-length hair) seemed to have been in a bad mood, which we sensed since the moment she came over to our table. She didn't give us her name, and almost reluctantly took our order. We had a coupon, so we let her know right away, as is advised usually. She said she'd have to see it but then walked away. We were confused that she asked and walked away, but thought she might be busy (it was trivia night and they got a bit busier while we were there). She walked past us once, twice, maybe six times before finally returning, but she didn't even look at the coupon. She wanted it orders, so we placed them. The food arrived very quickly, which we great! We never got refills on our drinks, however, and our server completely ignored us the rest of the time. The older gentleman and the younger ladies were all very pleasant, amicable, and provided excellent service, like bringing our food out, bringing chips, salsa, tortillas, and clearing our table of plates we no longer needed). We waited and waited for our server to return (at this point, we were thirsty but annoyed and wanted to leave) to ask for the check. She finally returns and in a very dry tone says she needs to see the coupon and then (I kid you not!) proceeded to walk away. This made me think she was trying to avoid the coupon, maybe she didn't know how to redeem ir in their system, but she finally returns with a manager/other employee to redeem it. While it was only one employee that tainted or experience at Lola's, it left a bad taste our mouths, and we will not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had a terrible experience and we were honestly too embarassed (for them) to even say anything about it to the staff.
Horchata was gross. We had to send it back in exchange for a Coke. Ceviche torta was gross too. My friend said the fish tasted off and picked it off. Chicken fajitas were ordered and it was clumps of oddly pastey colored chicken that was grilled and smelled odd with no seasoning. It was not a grilled chicken breast as you would expect in a fajita. It was flavorless odd chicken clumps. I ordered a rice bowl with grilled chicken and it was the same clumpy odd grilled chicken as the fajita. I didn't eat it because of the smell.
My friend ate her ceviche tostada but picked the fish out. The mango agua fresca was ok, cokes and cheese dip were fine. Everything else was inedible.
Again, we didn't mention it to staff. This was because we could feel that the server knew it was bad food because they suspiciously kept running off and being short with us after leaving the food. We didn't want the server to get in trouble especially after having had already sent back the horchata so we just paid and left.
I'm writing this, not to be troublesome, but because these 5 star reviews are super deceiving to people like us who decided to give this place a try after seeing...
